Amazing art reimagines video games as pulp fiction book covers!

Artist Astor Alexander has created an art set that every gamer out there will absolutely love! (I do!) He has reimagined video games as classic pulp fiction book covers and the result is incredible! The pieces that he has drawn up includes The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Bros., Metroid, and Bioshock. This is the kind of art that I wouldn't mind hanging on my wall! (If you follow the source link you can actually buy a print in various sizes.)

I wouldn't mind getting all the Nintendo ones but my favorite here is the The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess piece. I love it. Link and Princess Midna look perfect and I love the little touches like the stock of Link's gun being the same color of the handle of his Master Sword from the games.

Which out of these four is your favorite?

"Here's my tribute to my favorite songs on Star Wars! The display has been featured on ABC's The Great Christmas Light Fight and twice on ABC's Good Morning America. I sequenced the show using LOR, mixed the music/sound effects with Digital Performer, and filmed it using a 35' lift :) This is now my second year decorating. I built all the props using wood, metal, acrylic and corrugated plastic. I am a music/teacher director for a living (COVA Conservatory in Oakland and Centerville Presbyterian Church in Fremont), hence the massive instruments! If you look closely (especially during the Cantina song) the instruments are playing the real notes! The beams can be seen for miles but I went out of my way to avoid shining the beams on houses an…

It took 37 years but Marvel's Spider-Woman has finally gotten a new costume! Since her debut in 1977, Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, has been wearing the same iconic suit to fight crime but that is all about to change.

Spider-Woman has been quite busy lately and her stories have taken her all over the Marvel universe.
"In recent years, she's led a notably insane life, even for a Marvel superhero — Secret Invasion revealed that she'd been replaced for years by a shape-shifting alien Skrull, she's gone through a number of crazy superspy missions, Infinity threw her and the rest of the Avengers into an intergalactic battle to save Earth, and in Spider-Verse, the character's been tasked with keeping various newbies safe in the middle of a conflict involving several parallel universes."
Now that's a busy life. I would say after all that that Spider-Woman deserves a new costume. What fans might not expect is where the new suit is debuting. You can get you…

J.K. Rowling reveals her favorite Harry Potter quote!

When reading a book we inevitably come across one line that stands out as our favorite quote from that particular book. In the Harry Potter series there are many fantastic quotes but one fan, a teacher from Northern Ireland, asked Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling what her favorite quote was. Rowling responded with a truly great one.

.@LisaKTrainor 'Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?'
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) December 16, 2014

This quote is one of the greats from the series. If I was to pick one myself it would come from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The passage is:
"It's going to be all right, sir," Harry said over and over again, more worried by Dumbledore's silence than he had been by his weakened voice. "We're nearly there ... I can Apparate us both back ... don't worry ..."
"I am not worried, Harry," said Dumbledore, his voice a little stronger…

"Rian Johnson as you know is doing the main ones, episodes 8 and 9 of the Luke and Leia story lines, after JJ. Not sure anything is gained by looking at what Lucasfilm is doing except we are stalking all these people too." If this winds up being true it sort of lines up with past rumors that in The Force Awakens Harrison Ford, aka Han Solo, would be a co-lead. It's rather interesting if this is the…

When asked about his beard he replied,
"That is what I call my contractually obligated beard. Listen: I think they look fine on other people. It’s just not me. I mean, I never got used to it. But face foliage is almost a part of the costume. And it does bring a gravitas, perhaps unearned, but nevertheless, it makes a statement that they wanted to make, and I’m more than happy to oblige them." When asked if he was surprised that he was not in the first trailer Hamill responded and spoke about the focus of the story.
"Not really. This is about the new generation of characters; I think that’s the most important thing. It’s the opening…

Day 4 of Pottermore’s 12 days of Christmas relives the cursing of Katie Bell.

Day 4 of Pottermore’s 12 days of Christmas delivered another riddle to its fans from author J.K. Rowling.
"In snowy Hogsmeade, there’s a frightening scene,
Four students watch Katie Bell rise and scream,
The Gryffindor student falls victim to a dastardly scheme,
But what position does she play on the Quidditch team?" The answer to this new riddle is "Chaser". When you correctly entered this answer into the Pottermore riddle you were brought to the scene in Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince where Katie Bell was cursed by the opal necklace.

Michael Keaton answers the question concerning jealousy towards other Batman actors in the most perfect way!

When an actor leaves a big role it can be a little weird to see someone else pick up your part and play the character that you once did.

Actor Christian Bale played Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, for three films and now feels a bit of jealousy at seeing Ben Affleck suit up as the Dark Knight for the film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

During a recent interview with Short List Magazine Michael Keaton, who played Batman in the 1989 Batman film as well as the 1992 Batman Returns, was asked how he felt seeing others taking on the iconic role that he once played. His response could not be any more perfect.
"Finally, Christian Bale recently said he felt jealous to see Ben Affleck wearing the cape and cowl — do you ever get that?  “No. Do you know why? Because I’m Batman. I’m very secure in that.”" Drop the mic. Walk off. Nothing more needs to be said.

Wow. Keaton IS Batman. That is amazing.

Martin Freeman plays Bilbo Baggins in a Hobbit parody of "The Office" on Saturday Night Live!

Last night on Saturday Night Live Martin Freeman played Bilbo Baggins in what could only be explained as the most perfect parody sketch of the NBC show The Office. Titled "The Office: Middle Earth", this sketch has various characters from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings step into the roles of characters from The Office. Bilbo Baggins is the character of Jim while Gollum plays the character of Dwight. The sketch was perfectly done and as a fan of both the Middle Earth films and The Office I found it absolutely hilarious.

Colton Haynes' Arsenal will step up in a big way on the show Arrow.

*Possible spoilers for the second half of Arrow Season 3.

When Arrow returns at the beginning of next year there are of course going to have to be a few changes. Oliver Queen is presumed dead after a showdown with Ra's al Ghul and even if he is rescued and saved it may take some time for him to return to his role as the Arrow.

There is then the question of how will the show move on without it's title character. Showrunner Marc Guggenheim has stated that while Oliver is recovering that his partner Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) will step up in a very big way.
"One of the things I was very straight with Colton [Haynes] about is I don’t think we serviced his character quite as much as we would have liked in the first half of the season,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim says. “I’ll say the stuff that he’s got in episodes 10, 11, and 12, it’s pretty dang gangbusters. There’s one scene in episode 11 between him and John Barrowman that I think is some of his finest work on the sh…
