Doctor Who Invades New York City

On April 11, 2011 New York City was the proud host to another BBC America Doctor Who Premiere screening, this time for the Series 6 two part opener, along with cast Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, Alex Kingston, and Executive Producer Steven Moffat. This screening was the first viewing for fans anywhere. Only the press had seen it before this viewing.

The event itself was 7pm on Monday, but Doctor Who fans kicked off the event by starting the line at 4pm on Sunday. Emma Cameron was the first person in line this year and had this to say about holding the coveted spot.
"I'm very excited to be first in line. It's pretty crazy. I got here with two of my friends way early because we thought if we were going to do this we might as well go all the way and be here first and rough it out. Doctor Who means so much to me. I love it and it's my favorite show and being able to see the cast and have an interaction with them as we see the premiere weeks before anyone …

Mortal Kombat: Legacy

The first episode of the new live action Mortal Kombat web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy has been released. At twelve and a half minutes this first episode is a quick watch and may only be worth watching since it is the first episode. However, several key character are introduced; Jax (Michael Jai White; Spawn), Kurtis Stryker (Tahmoh Penikett; Battlestar Galactica), Sonya Blade (Jeri Ryan; Star Trek: Voyager) and Kano (Darren Shahlavi). Overall, it seems that this series has potential and a decent budget to carry it. It was definitely fun to see all the little easter eggs hidden within the episode and I can imagine that there are many more to come. The acting is fairly decent but at some moments the blood splatter looks a little cheesy. I'm willing to overlook that as long as everything else is up to par. Take a moment to watch and let me know how you feel about this new series.

Vader's New Apprentice

On her trip to Disneyland little Sariah Gallego was chosen to go onto stage at the Jedi Academy. When confronted by Darth Vader she makes the choice to become a Sith apprentice and bows to Vader, and does so perfectly. What a great statement to all the Jedi Padawans there showing them who would kill them in the future. I like the Stormtrooper's reaction to this. At first he goes to protect Vader until he realizes she's bowing to him and then cheers her on.
