The newest trailer for Halo 4 has been released and it gives fans a very special experience. Directed by David Fincher (The Social Network, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), this is a cinematic trailer that truly looks beautiful. It focuses on the origin of the game's hero, Master Chief and although there is little gameplay footage, it is still great to watch.

J.K. Rowling promotes her newest book The Casual Vacancy in NYC! [photos and video]

New York City was treated to a special event on Tuesday, October 16th that had Harry Potter fans from all over the world flocking to the David H. Koch theater in Lincoln Center, NYC. Author of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling was on hand to promote her new book The Casual Vacancy with an interview by Ann Patchett. As this was Rowling's only public US event, this was truly a must see night. I was lucky enough to be in attendance and Rowling was definitely on her game during the night.
The interview between Patchett and Rowling was light-hearted and very funny while still providing some great information. Any interview that starts off with Rowling saying "fucking hell," and talking about porn has to turn out to be amazing right? Right! After the hilarious start Rowling and Patchett spoke about bookstores (Patchett owning one herself) and Rowling shared her admiration for them. "Bookstores are hugely important. I've watched a great many of them close with a …

The Justice League movie gets a release date!

At long last Warner Bros. is finally giving fans some good news about the anticipated Justice League movie. They have officially revealed that at the moment they are looking at a summer of 2015 release for the film! That may seem far away but considering many were beginning to doubt the film would ever be made, this is definitely good news.

With Warner Bros. winning their legal battle over the rights of Superman, they are looking to move forward. There is no information on the script just yet but the screenplay has been written by Will Beall and it is being said that the movie will bring Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and The Flash together to form the Justice League.

Warner Bros. is looking to start filming next year so I am hoping that they can get a great director and cast on board for this project and get it underway. Are you excited for the Justice League?

New Zealand issues commemorative The Hobbit coins and stamps!

With the upcoming release of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the country of New Zealand will be issuing a set of commemorative coins and stamps that will honor Tolkien's books and the upcoming movies. These coins and stamps will be released on November 1, 2012.
If you are a Tolkien fan and looking to get your hands on these items you'll have to dish out quite a bit of money as you will not find them in circulation and the price tag on them is quite the hefty sum.

AFP had this to comment on the price tag of these coins:
"The most expensive, made from one ounce (28.3 grams) of pure gold, will set Tolkien enthusiasts back NZ$3,695 ($3,020) but has a face value of just NZ$10, while the cheapest is a NZ$1 coin retailing for NZ$29.90." The coins will be legal tender in the country of New Zealand but you can bet that fans who get their hands on them will be displaying them in cases on their shelves rather than sitting in their wallets. The stamps …

8 new Doctor Who set photos show the Doctor in a motorcycle chase with new companion!

Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman have been spotted on set for Doctor Who's newest episodes filming what seems to be a motorcycle chase. The cast of the BBC show is filming in London and looking at the clothing being worn and the vehicles, the episode appears to be set in the present day.

Reports from the set say that Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman have been getting along very well and we have already seen that their on-screen chemistry is great (Asylum of the Daleks). If these pictures are any indication, the two are certainly enjoying working together.

Find out what happened to Rory's dad on Doctor Who! [video]

*Possible spoilers if you have not seen Doctor Who Season 7 Episode 5 - The Angels Take Manhattan

Doctor Who fans eagerly tuned in to watch the season 7 mid-season finale which was known to be the departure episode for current companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams. Though there were mixed reactions to how Amy and Rory's departure from the show was handled, there was one thing that most fans agreed about. "What ever happened to Rory's dad, Brian Williams?" For some reason the show left this question unanswered and we never see if Brian ever finds out about what happened to his son. I personally found this to be a huge oversight by the show. They took several episodes to establish and develop the character of Brian Williams and then left him as the biggest plot hole of the season. To prove that the character was special and important the Doctor even invited him to travel with him in the TARDIS alongside his son and daughter-in-law.

All this left fans searching for some…
