Calvin and Hobbes movie trailer reveals what happened to Calvin when he grew up! [video]

Growing up, Calvin and Hobbes was one of those comics that I absolutely loved to read. The stories and imagination that Calvin had were incredible!

But what happened to Calvin and that crazy imagination of his when he grew up? This trailer, created by Gritty Reboots, shows us the dark and frightening tale that answers that question. "While growing up, Calvin's imagination always kept him sane. He didn't have many friends, so he created one. As he got older, he tried to leave childish things behind. But his imagination had a different plan." I would for them to make this into a full length fan film or actual film! The trailer is well made and downright creepy. Love it!

Steven Moffat talks about the unused Doctor Who story arc had David Tennant stayed longer!

It appears that things on Doctor Who may have been a lot different had David Tennant, the Tenth Doctor, decided to stay on for one final year.

In the newest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, Steven Moffat explains that the introduction of Amy Pond would have happened no matter who the Doctor was at the start of the 5th season. He goes on to tell the magazine the basic story arc that would have occurred and it sounds really interesting!
"I only had the roughest idea. Had David stayed for one final year, it would certainly have been his last, so my pitch was that it would start with the Tardis crashing in Amelia’s back garden—as now—and a terribly battered and bruised Tenth Doctor staggering out. Amelia finds him, feeds him fish custard (no that was for Matt, it would have been something more Davidy) and generally helps him. But we, the audience, can see he’s in a truly bad way. Dying maybe. Eventually he heads back to his TARDIS, and flies off. But when he returns—many years later fo…

First clip from Iron Man 3 has Tony Stark sending The Mandarin a "Holiday Greeting"! [video]

Marvel Studios has just released the first clip from the upcoming Iron Man 3 and it shows us a Tony Stark that we have not seen in past movies. The calm and collected Tony Stark seems to be gone and is replaced with an agitated Tony who is done with playing games.

In the released clip Tony sends The Mandarin a "holiday greeting" in which he lays down the fact that he is not taking the abuse from him anymore and that he is going to get back at him. Check it out and enjoy!

Iron Man 3 will fly into theaters on May 3, 2013.

First picture of Beast from X-Men: Days of Future Past!

Bryan Singer has just shown the world it's first glimpse of Beast (Nicholas Hoult) from his upcoming film X-Men: Days of Future Past. He released this first photo via Twitter and sent along the following quote from the 1756 Beauty and the Beast story by Jeanne Marie Le Prince de Beaumont.  "Many a monster wears the form of a man; it is better of the two to have the heart of a man & the form of a monster." The new look of Beast looks like it will combine the previous looks we have seen by Hoult in X-Men: First Class and Kelsey Grammer in X-Men: The Last Stand.  What do you think of it? X-Men: Days of Future Past will be in theaters on July 18, 2014.

Artist creates cover art for three Little Golden Video Game Books!

Los Angeles based artist, Joebot, has been inspired by the artwork used on the children's books "Little Golden Books" to create some cover art of his own using this unique style. Joebot created three pieces that feature the video games Skyrim, Portal, and BioShock. The three video game inspired Golden Books can be seen below. I wouldn't mind seeing these books become a reality. Which would you want to see become real?

Disney shuts down LucasArts and cancels all games in production!

When Disney purchased LucasFilm from George Lucas fans knew that there would be changes coming but I do not think that anyone saw this coming. In a unexpected move, Disney has shut down LucasArts which was a video game developer and publisher. LucasArts has laid off the majority of its staff and is being reconstructed from a game developer to a game licenser. “After evaluating our position in the games market, we’ve decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company’s risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games," LucasArts parent company LucasFilm said in a statement. "As a result of this change, we’ve had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles.” As a result of this change LucasArts is no longer developing Star Wars 1313. It is being said that they could possibly look to have another developer finish it …

Red band trailer for 'This Is The End' will crack you up! And Emma Watson wields an ax! [video]

Columbia Pictures has just released the hilarious red band trailer for the apocalyptic film This Is The End and it looks amazing! "The comedy This Is The End follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption." The film is being directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and will star James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Michael Cera, and Emma Watson. Although when you watch the trailer you'll see that there are many other celebrities in this film that make appearances. Maybe it's the Harry Potter fan in me but my favorite part of this trailer is when Emma Watson appears wielding an ax and then curses as the terrified stars of the film…

Darth Baby's Lightsaber! [video]

Fans have always wondered what the world would be like if their favorite sci-fi film technology actually existed. One of the items on the top of that list would certainly be the lightsaber from the Star Wars franchise.

Joel and Jared Erickson have created a brilliant video titled "Darth Baby's Lightsaber" that shows what it would be like if a baby got it's hands on a lightsaber and the difficulty you would have trying to take it away from them. The result is too funny and is well worth watching. Enjoy!

Gollum: Relationship Specialist (A Precious That We Used To Know)! [video]

Gollum is up to his singing antics again and this time it comes in the form of Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know . This video is especially great in that it starts out as Gollum portraying a Relationship Specialist talking to one of his patients who has just broken up with her boyfriend and then slips into the song that, as usual, has some great/clever lyrics in it.

Great art piece "Masters of Imagination" reminds you of playing with toys as a child!

Take a look at this fun piece of art by artist Matt Luxich that features three friends playing with some Masters of the Universe toys. Above the boys you can see the imagination of the boys' at work as He-Man battles it out against Skeletor. The piece is titled "Masters of Imagination".

This piece is so much fun. The art style is great and it reminds me of when I used to play with my action figures as a kid and how into it I would get. Such great times!
