The Avengers Wait for a Bus

The crew from Booya Pictures have created a short spoof that shows us Marvel's Avengers as they wait for a ride at the local bus stop after they decided to give the Quinjet (the Avengers' jet) a break. The conversation that follows is hilarious.

A Dark Knight Birthday

When choosing a character to come to your child's birthday party, Batman is always a good choice and a child favorite. However, when you call the party company be sure you are specific on which Batman you are looking to have as your party's entertainment. Having the "Dark Knight" come to your party may not be the best option for your child. This great video shows us what happens when you make this seemingly simple mistake.

Cat condo modeled after Star Wars' AT-AT!

Star Wars fans have been creating amazing Star Wars related items for their pets for a long time but reddit user BillyAppletini has created one of the best pet homes ever made. He created and built a cat condo, which he named the CAT-AT, for his friend who is a big fan of Star Wars. The exterior of the CAT-AT is completely carpeted and suitable for climbing and scratching while the inside of the CAT-AT has a mini bar, bird hunting trophies, a painting, and even a nice little indoor plant. BillyAppletini estimates that creating the CAT-AT cost him about $1,000 just for the materials and the current one will most likely be one of a kind.

What do you think about this spectacular cat condo?

Worlds' Finest debuts in second wave of DC's New 52

DC Comics is set to launch its second wave of comics in the new DC Universe entitled DC's New 52. The first reveal for this second wave is World's Finest which features Supergirl, Robin, Power Girl, and Huntress on the cover. Worlds' Finest #1 was created by writer Paul Levitz and has art drawn by George Perez, Kevin Maguire and Scott Koblish. One of things that is most noticeable with DC's New 52 is that many heroes received all new looks or slightly altered looks for their outfits. Worlds' Finest is no exception. Even though it looks like Huntress' outfit remained relatively the same and Robin and Supergirl received minor alterations, Power Girl is the one who received the big outfit change. This time around her outfit will be less "sexy". How do you feel about these new looks?
"This week, DC COMICS-THE NEW 52 launches its "Second Wave," expanding the boundaries of the shared narrative and the scope of the universe. Further develop…

Peter Parker's eyes visible in the new The Amazing Spider-Man suit

SONY Pictures has released a new image of Andrew Garfield in costume on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man and fans are split on what it shows them. I have been on board with this new suit since the beginning. I think it looks really nice and is a great new look for our wall crawler. The one thing that bothers me about this photo however is that we can see Peter's eyes in this mask. I really feel that his eyes should not be seen to keep a more classic character feel.

However, in my very first blog post for Realm Beyond Sight I uncovered the origin of this particular suit. It comes from a 2008 five issue series called Spider-Man: With Great Power by David Lapham and Tony Harris. I have posted the scan of the comic at the bottom of this post and you can clearly see in this particular comic you can see Peter's eyes in this suit. Although the movie suit is staying true to the origin comic it still bothers me as I did not like it in the comic either.

How do you feel about Peter&#…

Marvel's The Avengers (on a budget)

The folks over at Table 8 have filmed a hilariously great recreation of The Avengers trailer that they are calling "Marvel's The Avengers (on a budget)". I was laughing through the entire trailer. Their personal comedic take on the individual characters is great and you have to love all the cheesy effects. I think I laughed hardest however at one specific Hawkeye moment. You'll know which one when it comes, trust me. Kick back and enjoy the hilarity that is "Marvel's The Avengers (on a budget)".

Warner Bros. unveils new The Hobbit footage at CinemaCon

Yesterday was a big day for Warner Bros. at CinemaCon as they unveiled a lot of new footage for their upcoming films. The most anticipated footage was held until the end and it happened to belong to Peter Jackson's The Hobbit. Jackson had decided to preview 10 minutes of footage to showcase the film's 48 fps (frames per second) frame rate. Unfortunately, the footage shown was only for the eyes of those at CinemaCon but you can be sure that fans will be on the lookout for it. We do however have a write up of what was shown by's Edward Douglas.
"It opened with lots of sweeping shots of the mountains and landscapes of Middle Earth set to Howard Shore's distinctive score leading into an introduction by the older Bilbo, played by Ian Holm, telling the story of his journey to Frodo, and we see a brief glimpse of Elijah Wood as his "Lord of the Rings" character. This then leads into the opening from the trailer of Gandalf approaching Bilbo …

The Peanut Matrix

Check out this great stop motion video that has reshot the famous lobby gun fight scene from The Matrix using all food products. I don't know about the whole movie but I would definitely watch more action scenes like this!

Another clip released for The Avengers

Yet another clip has been released for the upcoming The Avengers. At this point we will have seen one quarter of the movie before the movie even hits theaters. All the same, the clip is pretty funny and shows Agent Coulson having a "fan boy" moment the first time he meets Captain America, Steve Rogers. Some might say the moment may enter "man crush" territory. Take a look and you be the judge.

The Avengers will make its way to theaters on May 4th!

First ever Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles drawing being auctioned

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans, collectors, and __ should know what the first ever drawn image of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles looks like. It has been spread all over the comic community and reprinted many times over. However, these same fans may now be interested to know that the actual image that was drawn by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird is being auctioned off to the highest bidder. The bid currently stands at $5,500 and will end on May 10, 2012 at 10pm CT.  If you think you have the deep pockets it'll take to own this piece of comic history, jump over to Heritage Auctions (linked below) and give it your best shot. Best of luck to those bidding!
"Late in November 1983, Peter Laird and I were sharing a studio (our living room) in Dover, New Hampshire . One work night , in an effort to make Peter laugh, I drew a sketch of this character I called a "Ninja Turtle" and threw it onto Peter's desk. He did laugh, and did a version of his own -- to which I need…
