The Wizarding World heads to California

Step aside Orlando. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is about to get a second location! The first location in Orlando, Florida at Universal Parks and Resorts’ Islands of Adventure has attracted more than 7 million people to the park and was the cause of a 36% boost in attendance in the opening three months of the year in 2011. Although nobody can officially talk about the matter yet, it seems as though this second location, to be placed at Universal Hollywood, is practically a done deal.
"A contract between Comcast Corp.-owned Universal and Warner Bros., which made the "Harry Potter" movies and controls licensing rights to author J.K. Rowling's books about the boy wizard, is being finalized and should be done within the next few weeks, the people said."One of the main issues to deal with now is where exactly would the Wizarding World be placed at Universal Hollywood. The park is already strapped for land and does not have enough room to house Hogwarts Ca…

Skyward Sword Launch Event at Nintendo World

On November 19th Nintendo World in NYC held a launch event for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and I was there to celebrate the new game with all the other die hard fans. I wanted to take a moment to share a few of the photos that I took from the event as well as some of the media coverage held at the event. I also acknowledge that I am in all the videos I am sharing but I am taking a moment to reflect on the event as an attendee. I attended the event in my Link cosplay (from Twilight Princess) and had a fantastic time. Nintendo World set up a trivia game that was scattered around the store and had a replica Master Sword set up for fans to take a photo with as well as plenty of game stations with the Skyward Sword demo for people to play. One employee even walked around with a Hylian Sheild sent over from Nintendo that looked gorgeous (similar to the one Miyomoto had at E3 in 2004 when he came on stage for Twilight Princess).

Between the great people at Nintendo World and the di…

Nintendo's Newest Titles Are Fastest Selling Ever!

Nintendo definitely has something to be happy about this holiday season. At the moment, sales are rising on the 3DS and Wii and their newest titles are topping the charts!
"The new Nintendo 3DS game, Super Mario 3D Land, which landed in stores Nov. 11, has become the fastest-selling portable Mario game in company history, selling more than 500,000 units since launch, says Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime.

Meanwhile, the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, released for the Nintendo Wii on Sunday, Nov. 20, has sold 535,000 copies since its U.S. launch, making it the fastest-selling Zelda game ever, he says."This comes to no surprise to myself having played both of these games and finding them to be absolutely amazing. This is fantastic news for Nintendo and for the franchises of Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda as well.

New York Rangers Unveil Winter Classic Jersey

Switching over to another passion of mine, hockey, the New York Rangers have unveiled the jersey that they will wear in this year's Winter Classic and it is gorgeous! The Winter Classic will take place on January 2 at 1 pm (eastern standard time) in Philadelphia against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Rangers official NHL Winter Classic® jersey was designed in partnership with Reebok, featuring a retro style that pays tribute to the tradition of the Original 6 franchise. The sweater features colors from the team's "Heritage Jersey" with a vintage Rangers shield inspired by the original logo for the franchise established in 1926.

The Legend of Zelda - Skyrule

Bringing two great games together into one drawing, MetalHanzo has created a beatiful piece of fan art. Using The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker he mimicked the poster for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to come up with the creation "The Legend of Zelda - Skyrule". If Wind Waker fans look closely they'll realize that the dragon tail in the picture belongs to Valoo (the Sky Spirit who protected the Rito people in Wind Waker)! How awesome is that!

'Doctor Who' Returns Next Fall

We all saw this news coming but it has finally been made official from the man himself. Steven Moffat has confirmed that after the upcoming Christmas special, there will not be a new Doctor Who season until the Fall of 2012.

Moffat revealed this in Doctor Who Magazine by stating:
"Doctor Who in the summer? All that running down tunnels, with torches, and the sunlight streaming through your windows and bleaching out the screen? All those barbecues and children playing outside, while on the telly there are green monsters seething in their CGI-enhanced lairs? It's just not right is it? Be honest.

"For me, as a kid, when the afternoon got darker and there was a thrill of cold in the air, I knew that even though summer was over, the TARDIS was coming back! So yes, that's part of the plan, that's part of the reason for this little delay. But it's not the whole story."It seems that when Moffat has his mind set on something that it will indeed be done. …

Link's Spring Cleaning

In my last post I spoke about how Link from The Legend of Zelda can become incredibly encumbered throughout his adventures by all the items that he finds/buys. When the adventure is over and Link heads home, his home must get pretty cluttered with all of those items as well. This short, funny video created by Dorkly, shows us a spring cleaning yard sale that Link holds to get rid of some of the items he no longer wants. The main look of the video is taken from A Link to the Past but throughout the video you'll see and hear references from many of the The Legend of Zelda games. Enjoy!
