Fun Princess Leia fan art by Dave Bardin!

Here's a fun piece of art by Dave Bardin that features Princess Leia from Star Wars brandishing a blaster and a look on her face that says, "What are those foolish boys up to now?" Bardin's art style is a lot of fun and I hope that he does more characters for us.

What do you think of this piece?

LEGO - An Elvish Valentine! [video]

Brotherhood Workshop has delivered another great LEGO The Lord of the Rings video that fans are sure to love. The newest video was released for Valentine's Day and shows us a love struck orc trying to get a Valentine's Day date. The result is both funny and sad. Enjoy!  "The best way to spend Valentines day is on a romantic date. The second best way is to watch a violent movie with your buddies. Either way, we hope you all have a great one!"

"Gryffindors" - A Katy Perry parody by Not Literally Productions! [video]

The girls over at Not Literally Productions have released another great parody video and they have once again visited Hogwarts for their newest video. Fans may remember their last Harry Potter video which focused on the Hufflepuff House with a Lady Gaga Gaga parody. This time they have slipped into the colors of scarlet and gold as they support the Gryffindor House with a Katy Perry parody of the song "California Gurls".

The video is very well made and a lot of fun to watch. The effects are great and the dancing Dumbledore will certainly have you laughing. The singers in this video are Dana Ritterbusch (first to sing) and Ginny DiGuiseppi (second). This video walks you through a group of Gryffindors playing/watching quidditch and hanging out together during their off time. It is a lot of fun and I recommend all Harry Potter fans to check it out. GO GRYFFINDOR!

Inspiring fan made Star Wars Episoide VII trailer will blow you away! [video]

Fan trailers pop up all the time but it is a rare occasion to find a trailer that legitimately get you excited for the actual movie. I just came across this fan trailer for Star Wars Episode VII and it is truly inspiring! It incorporates footage from both movies and video games and was spliced together from Serenity, Star Trek, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Star Trek into Darkness. Although the actual movie may look nothing like this, it is still an amazing trailer to watch. Enjoy!

First glimpse of David Bradley as William Hartnell for Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary!

Recently I shared the news that actor David Bradley was cast as William Hartnell for the upcoming 50th Anniversary special An Adventure in Space and Time. The image seen to the right shows that the actor does have a resemblance to the original Doctor and that he might be able to pull off the look in the special.

Today, director Mark Gatiss himself tweeted a photo that is a close up of actor David Bradley in make up as William Hartnell that will put all suspicion of whether or not he can do that role justice to rest. The shot may be a close up but if you have seen any original stories of Doctor Who featuring Hartnell then you will know that the resemblance in uncanny!

Stargate SG-1 returns in all new mobile video game! Watch the trailer! [video]

Although it is no longer an active television series the Stargate franchise is one of the biggest names in sci-fi television. And even though people have tried on numerous occasions to get a video game released based on the series they have all been unsuccessful. Until now!

Developers MGM and Arkalis Interactive have just released the trailer for Stargate SG-1: Unleashed, which is set to be released on all major mobile platforms. Sorry, but we'll have to wait a little longer for this to appear on an actual gaming console. But maybe if this game does well developers will give Stargate a look! The trailer doesn't offer gamers any actual gameplay footage but instead shares some beautiful cinematics that reveal that the game will include all members of the SG-1 team and will be set in the Goa'uld era.

Right now the plot of this game is unknown but from this trailer it looks like it'll be great and I know that die-hard Stargate fans will definitely check this game out.

Tom Baker compares the Doctor (Doctor Who) and Superman!

It's only natural that pop culture's favorite characters would be compared to each other but when you have the actual actors doing the comparing it's fun to see what their thoughts are. Check out this great quote from actor Tom Baker who played the Doctor on the British sci-fi show Doctor Who from 1974-1981. In it he compares his own character "the Doctor" to the classic DC superhero Superman!

Super Mario Bros: The 8-Bit Opera! [video]

Alright, so opera may not be everyone's favorite musical style but I think I can safely say that most gamers will find this video highly entertaining. This video presents game footage from the original Super Mario Bros. from the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and has a hilarious opera song to go along with what is exactly happening on screen. I really enjoyed this video and was pleasantly surprised by it. They even tease what could be sung for Super Mario Bros. 2 at the end! I'd also like to admit that when the song ended I kept singing. It's just so catchy!

A big thank you to my friend Kim M. for bringing this to my attention!

Do you have what it takes to join Cobra?

Story time with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Though the artist may be unknown this piece of fan art of Master Splinter reading to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is truly adorable. (There seems to be a website at the bottom of the photo but I cannot make out the exact address.) The turtles in this piece are just little children and seem excited and eager to hear what story Master Splinter is going to read to them. The drawing style and coloring in this piece is great and really brings out the cuteness. Well done!

Super Mario Ghostbusters! [video]

James Farr, an amazing animator, has finally delivered his newest project to his fans. Farr had previously brought us Blink to the Future which was a brilliant Doctor Who / Back to the Future mash-up animated video. This time Farr has set his sights on Ghostbusters and The Super Mario Bros. and created "Super Mario Busters". This amazing animated video is filled with great Mario Bros. Easter eggs and is filled with all of your favorite Mario characters. The video is just under 4 minutes long and well worth watching.

To make this video even better, it can be imagined that this is a trailer of sorts for the upcoming Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for the Nintendo 3DS. Or a whole film adaptation. I admit that I would love to watch the entire Ghostbusters movie like this. How about you?

Iron Man joins forces with the Care Bears!

For no other reason than they are both cool, Deviant Artist m7781 drew up this fun crossover piece that has Iron Man joining the Care Bears for the Care Bears Stare! If this wasn't cool enough, Iron Man's "stare" has the dollar symbol coming out of his chest arc reactor. My childhood self definitely loves this piece. Nicely done.

The cast of The Simpsons transforms into Spider-Man villains!

Although the artist is unknown this photo of The Simpsons cast as Spider-Man villains (and Milhouse as a beat up Spider-Man) is truly fun. The character/villain match ups are great and in some cases eerily accurate. Which villain do you think is best represented here? Did your favorite Spider-Man villain make the piece?
