Skyrim mod allows you to play as Link!

Since their launch a month ago The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword have been compared rigorously and have set fans against each other. However, one Skyrim fan felt that this does not need to be the case. They created a mod in which the PC (playable character) of Skyrim will not only have the appearance of Link from The Legend of Zelda but also his weapons and even Navi! You can download the Link from The Legend of Zelda mod pack here.

Take a look at the Zelda mod in action in this short video clip.

Jack the Giant Killer - trailer

Bryan Singer seems to have a hand in every other movie project that has been announced recently and one of them has just been given its first trailer. Enter the land of fairy tales with a new re-imagining of Jack and the Beanstalk titled Jack the Giant Killer. I never thought I'd say this about a Jack and the Beanstalk movie but this actually looks like it has some potential. The story seems to carry a deeper story while giving us some exciting action.

"Jack the Giant Killer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend–and ge…

New Pokemon Game: 'Nobunaga’s Ambition X Pokemon'

The newest Pokemon game was revealed at Jump Festa today and it is something that nobody saw coming! The game is titled "Nobunaga’s Ambition X Pokemon" and will be the first crossover game in the franchise.
"For those that don’t know, Nobunaga’s Ambition is a turn-based strategy RPG series involving real battles in Japanese history by Koei Tecmo, so Pokemon is now doing a crossover with that series and obviously bringing it into the fictional realm."At the moment only a Japanese release has been revealed for this game. Nobunaga’s Ambition X Pokemon will be on the Nintendo DS and will be released in 2012. It's not too surprising that Nintendo is releasing the game for the DS given that it has a much larger user base than the 3DS currently. No gameplay deatils have been revealed but it might be safe to say that this game will be a simulation RPG that will have Sengoku generals teaming up with pokemon. The game was developed by The Pokemon Company/Nintend…

Hyrule Historia - A 25th Anniversary Zelda art book

Nintendo continues to roll out the luxury treatment for The Legend of Zelda's 25th anniversary as they announce a special The Legend of Zelda art book entitled Hyrule Historia. Hyrule Historia will have 274 pages of concept art, promotional photos, and detailed historical information on characters and the games that they have starred in over the course of the franchise.

Only news of a Japanese version of the book has been announced so far but I would say it's only a matter of time before Nintendo rightfully announces this book worldwide. The Japanese release for the book is set for December 21st and will cost ¥3255 (USD$41).

Amy and Rory confirmed to leave Doctor Who

While at the screening for the upcoming Christmas episode of Doctor Who at the BBC TV Center in London, Executive Producer Steven Moffat officially made the announcement that the current companions to the Doctor, Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill), will soon be leaving the show next year.

"The final days of the Ponds are coming," Moffat said.

"I'm not telling you when or how, but that story is going to come to a heartbreaking end."
He said the Doctor, played by Matt Smith, was going to meet "a new friend". It is believed that role has not yet been cast.

On the departure of Gillan and Darvill, Matt Smith said: "We had the most incredible journey. We took over the show and we've really had to hold hands and help each other through it. As a fan of the show, I really enjoyed having Amy and Rory aboard the TARDIS. It was refreshing to have not one but two companions on the TARDIS and furthermore companions who stuck around for more th…

Nintendo plans to fix fatal Skyward Sword bug!

Just over a week ago, I reported on a game breaking bug in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. It appears that Nintendo has heard the fans and are planning to send out a fix for the game breaking bug.

Nintendo says it will soon offer two solutions. If you have an internet connection, the publisher will distribute a "program" to repair the save data. The program is currently being developed and more information on how to download and use it will be released at an unspecified time in the future.

If you don't have an internet connection, you'll be able to send in your Wii system or your SD card with the save file. Call Nintendo at 1-800-255-3700 for details on how to ship your equipment to them. At the moment both Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Japan are reporting news of this fix. Though they give no information of when the fix will be made available it is definitely a good sign that the company is listening to its fans and are looking to keep them satisfie…

G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailer!

The first G.I. Joe movie may have had split reactions from most fans but all the same G.I. Joe: Retaliation was green-lit and we have our first action packed trailer! I have to say - it looks good.

I admit that I already know I am going to see this. Ive been a G.I. Joe fan since I was a little kid and this trailer looks pretty good. Sure the story has been done before (elite team set up to take the fall and must fight their way back to gain their honor again) but name a recent movie in Hollywood that isn't take at least one idea from somewhere else.

The trailer is truly action packed and looks great. You see Cobra Commander in his classic helmet which looks amazing. Then from there it becomes a Who's Who of fan favorite G.I. Joe characters; Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson), Duke, Jinx, Lady Jaye, Firefly, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Flint, Havoc, ect. Also, in case you are just completely confused about Bruce Willis's character at the end of the trailer (**possible character spo…

Men In Black 3 trailer

Ten years after the last Men In Black movie, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are looking to round up some more illegal aliens. Men In Black 3 seems to bring back all the same laughs while looking to get some new ones. MIB3 introduces a new neurolizer and a time traveling plot that will surely get fans into the theater if only for nostalgia's sake. Whether good or bad, I would say that fans may see this just to relive the laughs of the first movie.

Men In Black 3 will be released Memorial Day 2012.

The Dark Knight Rises: The Legend Ends

The newest, and arguably most exciting, poster has been released for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. It shows us a rainy scene in which Bane (Tom Hardy) is walking away from the broken cowl of Batman (Christian Bale).
Fans already know that this is Nolan's and Bale's last film in the franchise and that Batman could possibly be taken out of commission, but could this poster be teasing the fans about the loved story arc that put Bane on the fandom map? I am of course am talking about the moment where Bane was waiting for Batman at Wayne Manor and at the end of the fight broke Batman's back wrestling style. This possibility with the poster tag line "The Legend Ends" creates for a very exciting new movie poster. Well done.
