There is no official word on what part of the TARDIS this will be but fans of the show will sure be glad to take a few guesses. how about the top of the TARDIS console for example? The only gaming system that this video is missing is the Virtual Boy which came out in 1995. Also, they went by the Super Nintendo in 1990 very quick. But all the same it's a fun video!

First image from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug!

Tolkien fans are certainly being treated well this week. Yesterday they were shown the first glimpse of Legolas and Bard the Bowman from the third The Hobbit film There and Back Again. Today, they are being treated to the first image from The Desolation of Smaug, the second film in the The Hobbit trilogy. The new photo features Bilbo Baggins played by Martin Freeman perched on top of a mound of gold and looking quite frightened. Best bet is that he may have just caught a glimpse of the owner of the gold he is kneeling on, Smaug the Dragon.

What do you think of this image? Does it get you excited to see The Hobbit?

Toronto, Canada based jeweler Zsolt Szekely has created a pair of wedding rings that have been getting a lot of attention in the gaming community. The rings are inspired by the video game franchise The Legend of Zelda and feature the Triforce on the outside and are inscribed inside with "It's dangerous" in one ring and "To go alone" in the other. This is of course a reference to the original The Legend of Zelda on the NES. This pair of rings are absolutely gorgeous and yet simple at the same time.

First ever video game Grammy nomination goes to the co-op adventure game Journey!

Big news for the video game industry came today in the form of a surprising Grammy nomination. The video game Journey, an adventure co-op game, has been nominated in the category Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. This is a surprising nomination because no video game has ever been up for a Grammy before. (The game Civilization was nominated but the song nominated was created for a different media first. So it was not a true video game nomination.) Even though video game composers such as Koji Kondo, Nubuo Uematsu, and Tim Folin (as well as many others) have been creating beautiful immersive scores for their games for years, society has been slow to look at game music as art. So this nomination is a very big deal for the industry.

Even though its music is stunning, Journey won't have an easy win. It will be competing against TheDark Knight Rises, Hugo, Tintin, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Artist.

My vote is definitely for Journey. Which do you think should take ho…

The Hobbit fans received an unexpected treat today when a new movie image made it's way to the web. The surprising thing was that the image comes from the last film in the The Hobbit trilogy; There and Back Again.

This newest image shows fan the return of the Elven warrior Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and Bard the Bowman (Luke Evans). It has already been known that both of these characters' roles are being developed and stretched for the movie story (especially since Legolas is not in novel The Hobbit at all) but how exactly the two will meet up and work together is unknown. How do you think these two characters will comes together in the story? Let me know in the comments and be sure to label possible spoilers.

Gandalf vs Magneto; Ian McKellen weighs in on who would win!

Actor Ian McKellen has played played two of the biggest names in sci-fi and fantasy; Gandalf (The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings) and Magneto (X-Men). Both of these characters are strong in their own right and possess powers above mere humans. But what would happen if the two of them met each other in battle? Who would top whom?

The answer is pretty obvious to most fans but Ian McKellen himself has officially weighed in on the subject and given us the definitive answer.
"McKellen was asked whether he was ever tempted to use Magneto's powers to steal orcs' weapons while playing Gandalf during an interview on the Colbert Report.

"No, see, because you know Gandalf is more powerful than Magneto," he said.

When asked if Gandalf would win in a fight, he said: "Yes, every time. The old guy will do it every time. He's seven thousand years old. He knows it all."" Are any of you surprised by the outcome that the famed wizard would top the king of magn…

The Dark Knight Rises - Honest Trailer [video]

The folks over at ScreenJunkies have created another brilliant Honest Trailer and this time they took aim at Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. This Honest Trailer may be long at 5 minutes but it points out many of the film's hilarious plot holes and will hold your attention to the last second. Why does everyone figure out Batman's secret identity but then not Commissioner Gordon. Also, why would the Gotham police force send the entire force into the sewers at the same time? Do you think this trailer has some good points with the plot holes that it points out?

New poster for Man of Steel shows Superman being restrained.

The newest poster for the upcoming Man of Steel has been released and I must say that I am a little disappointed. The image for the poster is an odd one since it features Superman being restrained by military guards while handcuffed. This could all be part of a ploy or perhaps Superman did something wrong and he is allowing himself to be taken in. But this is not the disappointing part. The disappointing part is that the entire image is out of focus and blurry. To me, it is just unpleasing to look at.

Man of Steel opens in theaters on June 14th.

The Hunger Gamers - A video game The Hunger Games parody! [video]

There have been a lot of The Hunger Games parody video to hit the web since the release of the movie but I have come across the one that tops them all. Titled 'The Hunger Gamers", this video pits contestants with classic and iconic video game weapons against first-person shooter soldiers.

The use of the classic weapons is set up perfectly and I was so happy to see the Hylian shield and Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda used in such a badass manner! Keep an eye out for other great franchise weapons from Portal, Super Mario Bros., Star Fox, Kingdom Hearts, Soul Calibur, and more! The effects created for this video are top notch and perfectly done. This video is absolutely amazing and I recommend it to all gamers!

Pikachu juices up! [video]

There can be a lot of pressure in the Pokemon League to win. In order to meet this pressure, Ash takes it upon himself to start training Pikachu a little harder than he used to and it appears that this time he has spent some of his poke dollars on anabolic steroids. The result is quite entertaining.
