Hobbiton Will Be A Permanent Attraction In New Zealand

It was officially announced yesterday that the set of Hobbiton, a town in The Shire featured in the books and movies Lord of the Rings and the upcoming The Hobbit, will permanently become a visitor attraction in New Zealand.
It was also announced today that Hobbiton on the outskirts of Matamata, will remain as a permanent visitor attraction after filming is completed.

The set will include 44 Hobbit holes, a stone bridge, and a local hostelry called The Green Dragon.With this announcement, the appeal to visit the beautiful New Zealand has grown greatly. Better start saving up. Tours will be run by Hobbiton Tours.

The Art of The Hobbit

J.R.R. Tolkien is one of the most celebrated authors in history. But what some people might not realize is that when he wrote The Hobbit in 1937, he also drew the artwork that went into the original publication of the book. In order to celebrate the 75th anniversary a book is being released entitled The Art of The Hobbit that will celebrate the author's artistic talents. More importantly however, this book will feature never before seen art work from Tolkien himself. And they mean "never before seen".
The published version of The Hobbit includes around 20 illustrations by its author, as well as the well-known dust jacket painting of the mountains which Bilbo Baggins passes through on his adventures. But when HarperCollins began preparing for the book's 75th anniversary next year, the publisher discovered Tolkien had actually created more than 100 illustrations, which lay buried in his archive at the Bodleian Library in Oxford and were only recently digitised.&qu…

Nathan Drake Enters 'Little Big Planet 2'

Geek Tyrant has reported on an incredibly cute new character for the upcoming Playstation game Little Big Planet 2 and that character is none other than Nathan Drake himself. Yes. You read that right. Nathan Drake from Uncharted will be available to purchase as a Sackboy for Little Big Planet 2. This one will be a must purchase for a lot of gamers out there.
"In celebration of the upcoming release of Uncharted 3: Drakes Decemption Sony and Media Molecule have unveiled an awesomely cute looking Nathan Drake costume that will be coming to LittBigPlanet 2. The costume will be available for purchase next week on the PlayStation Network, the same week Uncharted 3:Drake's Deception is released. There's no word on how much it will cost though."

'Batman: Arkham Asylum/City' Batsuit Replica

With the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum and now Batman: Arkham City, a group of FX experts decided that they wanted to bring the game to a whole new level and create the legendary batsuit in real life. Posted by user batpirisss on the FX Lab forums you can see how incredibly detailed the suit is and that it is a fully wearable batsuit.

"Wanted to show a project we completed recently. A group of us had been talking for years about what we always wanted to see done on screen for the Bat franchise. After the game design came out we decided to approach it with that end result in mind.

All of us agreed that this was the best movie suit never done as well as the entire game being the film we all wanted to see. And there were so many aspects to it, including the illusive blue and gray of the new city suit, that we wanted to tackle.
