Jennifer Lawrence to star in House at the End of the Street

Fresh from from The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence is jumping from one death arena to another. The young actress will star in House at the End of the Street, a horror-thriller co-starring Elizabeth Shue. It's hard to tell from the trailer if the movie will be good on it's own merit or because the marketing team decided to have the trailer cut with Jennifer Lawrence running around in a white tank top the whole time, but the movie definitely seems intriguing. Looking forward to learning more about this film.

Movie synopsis:
Newly divorced Sarah (Elizabeth Shue) and her daughter Elissa (Jennifer Lawrence) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret.

House at the End of the Street will hit theaters on September 21, 2012.

First official Man of Steel banner

Along with the launch of their new Facebook Man of Steel page, Warner Bros. has unveiled the first official movie banner for Man of Steel. As you can see, the iconic Superman shield has been redesigned to have a grittier look with smooth curves. I think it looks pretty good. What do you think of this newly redesigned Superman shield?

Batman gets a new show titled 'Beware the Batman'

Cartoon Network is adding a new Batman show to its DC Nation line-up later this year.  Titled Beware the Batman, the show will be entirely CG and will bring the Caped Crusader into new and interesting territory.

Here's the official synopsis:
"A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman's core characters with a rogues gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City's criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what we have come to know as a "Batman show." Featuring cutting-edge CGI visuals to match the intricate twists and turns of the narrative, Batman steps out of the shadows and into the spotlight for an entirely …

The Hunger Games review

“The world will be watching.” This tagline for The Hunger Games couldn’t have been truer. In the opening weekend The Hunger Games grossed $155 million in the US alone and world wide it grossed $214.3 million. From these impressive numbers it would seem that The Hunger Games certainly lived up to the hype leading up to the release. But let’s take a closer look. *Mild spoilers may be present in this review*
First off, I will say that I have both read the book and seen the movie and I loved both. The movie is not a perfect adaptation but compared to some others, this movie does a pretty good job. The only thing that feels ‘off’ about this being an adaptation is that at times you can tell that there had to be more to a scene in the book as the movie scene feels like a shell of the true moment. Making up for this however is the excellent acting. Jennifer Lawrence as the leading Katniss Everdeen was spectacular. Even in moments where Lawrence is not speaking her facial expressions perfectly…

Tacos delivered by unmanned helicopter?

That's right! There is a start up business in the San Francisco Bay area that is planning to deliver tacos to their customers via unmanned helicopter drones. The drone is appropriately named a TacoCopter. Just order on your mobile device and watch the skies for your incoming meal!

At the bottom of the TacoCopter page there is a small icon for a LobsterCopter that could possibly be in the works for the East Coast labeling it the "Taco of the East!"

What do you think of these new business ideas? Confused? Love them? Share your thoughts!

New photo of Jenna-Louise Coleman with the TARDIS

Now that Jenna-Louise Coleman has been announced as the new companion to the Doctor on the British Sci-Fi show Doctor Who, everyone is beginning to watch her every move. Even photoshopped photos of her put into various Doctor Who environments are beginning to circulate around the web. But what true fans are looking for are official Doctor Who photos of the new companion. Along with the first official image of Jenna-Louise Coleman with the TARDIS I was able to come across one where she is standing in the TARDIS doorway (seen below). With how excited Coleman is to be the new companion, I must admit that I am equally excited to see what she brings to the show!

Ben Browder's role in Doctor Who is revealed!

Sci-fi fans rejoiced when they heard that Ben Browder (Stargate SG-1, Farscape) would be guest starring in an upcoming episode of the British sci-fi show Doctor Who. His role however was not revealed. That has recently changed with the release of the official series 7 trailer. If you watch closely at the 37 second mark you will see Ben Browder yelling at the gun wielding Amy Pond. Although his exact 'rank' is still unknown it is clear that Browder will be portraying a man of the law. It's definitely great to see Browder acting again. How do you think he'll be as a wild west law man?

Totall Recall movie banner revealed

The first movie banner for the Total Recall remake has been revealed and it looks pretty cool. However, when looking at this banner does anyone else see the strong resemblance to the Source Code banner?

Total Recall will star Colin Farrell as Douglas Quaid, Jessica Biel as Melina, Kate Beckinsale as Lori, Bill Nighy as Kuato, Bryan Cranston as Vilos Cohaagen, and John Cho as McClane. This is a pretty solid line up but can a great cast really make fans forget about the 1990 classic?

Total Recall will hit theaters on August 3, 2012.

One half of "Spider-Men" is revealed!

Comic Book Resources revealed the identity of one of the Spider-Men for the upcoming comic Spider-Men from writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli. The first reveal from Marvel shows us that one of the Spider-Men will be the all too familiar Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker. This reveal feels fitting as having two Spider-Men team up with one not being Amazing Spider-Man would feel weird. The silhouette to the right still remains blacked out but there are plenty of theories on who this could be. The most popular theory, and probably the correct one, is that the second Spider-Man will be revealed as Ultimate Spider-Man, Miles Morales. "An event involving both universes [Marvel Universe and Ultimate Universe] would be unprecedented but considering the incredible popularity of Miles Morales and the upcoming "Amazing Spider-Man" film in July, it's understandable Marvel might publish a story linking the two characters to draw in new readers fresh from the…

Doctor Who Series 7 trailer (official)

The trailer for Series 7 of the British Sci-Fi show Doctor Who has been officially released by the BBC. Though many fans were able to see the leaked copy from the official Doctor Who convention in Cardiff this past weekend, this copy is high quality and easier to see what is going on. There is a lot of exciting footage in this trailer (even if a lot of it is from episode 3).

The Doctor as a wild west sheriff, someone who appears to be a Egyptian pharaoh, the Doctor's awesome Christmas list, Argus Filch and Arthur Weasley together again, and a Dalek pulling an R2-D2 move with his eyestalk ... love it.
