Review - Iron Man 3

Robert Downey Jr. has once again captivated audiences and Iron Man 3 has topped the box office.  With a different director (Shane Black) in control of the film fans knew that this third film in the Iron Man franchise would feel different but what they received was something unexpected.

*Possible spoilers ahead.

This is both good and bad. The film definitely has a darker tone and  really does have a "real world" feel to it. The Tony Stark that we are introduced to in this film is not the Tony Stark that we have become accustomed to seeing in his other 3 movie appearances (Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and The Avengers). This time around Tony is a mentally broken man who is trying to cope with reality after the events of the Battle of New York that occurred in The Avengers. This becomes a staple of the film as we watch Tony try to overcome several anxiety attacks at the mere mention of the Avengers and New York.

I have to say that the cast did an amazing job in this film. The acting …

John Hurt's character for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary could change EVERYTHING on the show!

*Rumors / Possible spoilers ahead*

Rumors concerning actor John Hurt's character for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary episode have been flying around in the last few days but things may have just heated up as more news has surfaced that may seem to confirm those rumors. If things turn out to be true, Doctor Who will certainly be changed forever. Certainly in the eyes of the fans.

Hurt recently did an interview where he stated that he plays “part of the Doctor” in a “kind of trinity” with Matt Smith and David Tennant. This seemed to spark truth in recent rumors that Hurt was actually playing an incarnation of the Doctor that the Doctor himself had forgotten about. To make things weirder, Hurt would be the actual Ninth Doctor if this was true.

Now an anonymous source has come forward with more news:
“John will play the real Ninth Doctor. Christopher Eccleston has always been thought of as the Ninth Doctor but now that John has been revealed as the Ninth Doctor, it shuffles Eccle…

Marvel reveals Superior Spider-Man's new upcoming suit!

Marvel has just revealed the new look for the Superior Spider-Man and it is a big change. Fans reading Superior Spider-Man will know that it is Otto Octavius (Doctor Octopus) inside of Peter Parker's body that is this new version of Spider-Man. It seems that changing his name was only the first change that Otto wanted to make. In this new photo you can see Spider-Man sporting an all new suit that has additional legs coming off of it as well as claw like fingers.

How do you feel about this new look and new suit for the Superior Spider-Man?

Donkey Kong boxes Little Mac in the art piece "Last Stand".

Check out this fun piece of fan art that features Donkey Kong entering the boxing ring with Punch-Out's own Little Mac! The piece is titled "Last Stand" and was created by Steven Hughes. From the looks of things, it appears that Little Mac is getting the upper hand on Donkey Kong. Perhaps the famed gorilla underestimated the small boxer like so many of his opponents did.

Big thanks to my friend Nelson for bringing this photo to my attention!

Take a look at the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (pre-CGI) on the set of the new film!

Yesterday we got our first look at Megan Fox as April O'Neil on set of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and today we get to see the Turtles themselves! (Sort of.) The photos feature actors Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, and Noel Fisher as Michelangelo. Actor Alan Ritchson who is playing Raphael appears to not be in this particular scene.

From these photos it seems that Donatello, Leonardo, and Michelangelo have been captured by a group who is being reported as the Foot Clan. Though if this truly is the Foot Clan in these photos I admit that I am disappointed and hope that their look will change as the movie goes on. It feels odd to see the Foot carrying guns and looking more like a tactical police squad than a ninja clan. They masks being worn by the Foot are also a little odd.

Also visible in these photos are the motion capture technology suits that the actors playing the Turtles are wearing. This technology is similar to what was used for Rise of …

First photo of James McAvoy as Professor X in X-Men: Days of Future Past!

Director Bryan Singer has just tweeted another picture from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past! These set photo tweets has given fans a good look at several characters from the film and this time Singer tweeted a photo of James McAvoy as Professor X! In the photo McVoy is decked out in some fashionable '70s clothing and so far still has a full head of hair. Though due to the injury Professor X sustained at the end of X-Men: First Class, he is now sitting in his wheel chair. He is definitely shaping up to be the Professor that we know and love.

What do you think of this first photo of James McAvoy as Professor X?

Maker vs Marker - stop motion animated fight scene [video]

Take a look at this incredibly fun piece of animation titled "Maker vs Marker" created by Johnny Lawrence. "Maker vs Marker is a stop motion fight between animator and animation taking place on a whiteboard. Based from the Street Fighter Series with elements of DBZ and the unintentional SSBB."

The animation in this video is clean and a lot of fun to watch. Lawrence has done a wonderful job here creating this video and bringing in elements from the three various game titles. Enjoy.

Harry Potter sings about his adventures in "Draw My Life". [video]

I found this amazing video by the folks over at AVbyte and instantly knew I had to share it with all my Harry Potter fans out there. It comes as a part of the "Draw My Life" series where a person tells the viewers the story of their life while the whole time they are literally drawing out the story. This video finds Harry Potter himself summing up the epic story of his life in his own episode of "Draw My Life" and it is amazingly done.

The lyrics to the song that Harry sings while telling you about his life is well created and the drawings are incredible. I cannot wait to see what other videos AVbytes creates for this series!

Photos of Megan Fox as April O'Neil on set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

The first photos are beginning to roll in from the set of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and they feature actress Megan Fox as reporter April O'Neil. Fans weren't that excited at the casting news for April O'Neil and these photos may not excite them as we can already see that Megan has kept her natural hair instead of becoming a red head for the role. The yellow jacket is a nice touch since reporters today do not wear jumpsuits anymore (like April did in the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon) but I'm still not seeing Fox as April just yet.

What do you think of these first photos? Do you think Megan Fox will be a good April O'Neil or was this just another case of casting a big name for the wrong part?

The Doctor Who cooking special! [video]

Sneaky Zebra has just released a funny cooking video that features our favorite Timelord, the Doctor, from Doctor Who. "With over 900 years of traveling the universe, you're bound to pick up some cooking tips!" The Doctor in this video is played by cosplayer Matt Elliott while the voice of the Doctor in the video is Elliott Crossley. (It would have been too perfect for someone to look like Matt Smith to also sound like him. Ha) The video is fun and the dish that the Doctor serves up looks quite ... interesting. Enjoy!

The first trailer for the highly anticipated Ender's Game has been released and it definitely delivers. This trailer gives fans a look at the various characters while still keeping it fun with a lot of action. DC Comics reveals He-Man's new look!

He-Man is getting an all new look and DC Comics has revealed to fans what he will look like come this July! "Hitting stores in July, HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE #4 will find He-Man captured by Despara, who is ordered to bring him before Hordak. But that’s not the only reason to be excited about issue #4. The issue’s cover by Ed Benes will also introduce He-Man’s new look for DC Comics!

In the epic war against the forces of Hordak ripping through the pages of the current series, He-Man must don the sacred armor of his ancestors. While fans may be surprised by this turn of events, this dynamic direction for one of the world’s best-known heroes is firmly rooted in the classic legacy of MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE. After all, so long as you stay true to the core concepts, it’s always exciting to explore new possibilities, right?" From the photo he seems to look pretty good. Still has the elements of his classic look while being updated for today's audience. I'm in…
