'Torchwood' News - Gareth David-Lloyd & Eliza Dushku

Towards the end of Children of Earth, the Torchwood team (and fans everywhere) lost the loved member of the team, Ianto Jones. When the fan favorite character met his end fans did not want to accept that he was gone and created online petitions and letters to Russel T. Davies, writer of Torchwood: Children of Earth, to get him back. Though Davies stood strong that Ianto was dead and that he would not return it appears that he was only half right.

It was released on Gareth David-Lloyd's twitter that he will officially be returning. The message read, "Ianto's back... in three new Torchwood radio plays set between S2 and Children of Earth. Doctor Who mag #435 has story info, and we'll keep you posted as to airdates."  Be sure to check out that Doctor Who Magazine issue!

'The Hobbit' Films Get Their Names and Release Dates

We've known for some time that the film adaptation to JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit would be split into two films but we did not know what these films would be named exactly. Speculations can stop as BBC News has reported the official names of the two films.

Part 1 of The Hobbit will be named "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" and Part 2 will be named "The Hobbit: There and Back Again".

An Unexpected Journey could be a reference to the first chapter of the book "An Unexpected Party" and There and Back Again is of course a reference to the original title of the book which was also referenced in Lord of the Rings as the title of Bilbo Baggin's memiors.

An Unexpected Journey will be released in December of 2012 while There and Back Again is set to be released in December of 2013.

Daleks To Get A Much Needed Rest

In a move that made me personally happy, Steven Moffat has decided to give the Daleks a much needed rest from the show. Given that the Daleks have been in every season of the current series (even made a guest appearance in the 2009 specials) and were a featured enemy in 4 out of the 5 season finales, it is about time that they step aside and let people miss them for a while while they build up their army.

BBC News reports:

The Daleks are to be given "a rest" from Doctor Who, writer Steven Moffat has told the Radio Times.
Moffat, who is also the BBC television show's executive producer, said: "They aren't going to make an appearance for a while. We thought it was about time to give them a rest."

The Daleks were voted the scariest villains in the history of Doctor Who in a poll of fans in 2007.

Moffat said they had been defeated by the Doctor "about 400 times".

Created by Terry Nation, the Daleks are the Doctor's hugely popular enemies who have…

Link to the Future - Fan Film

This hilarious fan film will surely have any The Legend of Zelda fan, big or small, laughing as it merges one of the greatest video game franchises with the great movie franchise Back to the Future to explain the 'Zelda' timeline. However, if you are a cosplayer you might shudder at some of the costuming mistakes in the video. ie: Not bothering to fix the colors on the Hylian shield, ect. But try to look past that!

Taking place at the end of Ocarina of Time this fan film shows Doctor Emmet Brown (Back to the Future) explaining to Link that he must return seven years in the past in order to restore the timeline. In a quick explanation to a confused Link, Doc draws up the timeline on a chalkboard and explains the events that occur to Link's descendants. Hilarity ensues when Link becomes more confused and Doc throws in Link's various adventures in other video game titles into the mix. There's also a funny reference to the CDi games. This is definitely a video that al…
