'The Hobbit' Films Get Their Names and Release Dates
We've known for some time that the film adaptation to JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit would be split into two films but we did not know what these films would be named exactly. Speculations can stop as BBC News has reported the official names of the two films.
Part 1 of The Hobbit will be named "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" and Part 2 will be named "The Hobbit: There and Back Again".
An Unexpected Journey could be a reference to the first chapter of the book "An Unexpected Party" and There and Back Again is of course a reference to the original title of the book which was also referenced in Lord of the Rings as the title of Bilbo Baggin's memiors.
An Unexpected Journey will be released in December of 2012 while There and Back Again is set to be released in December of 2013.
