Mortal Kombat: Legacy - Episode 2 & 3

Image
Episodes 2 & 3 of the new web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy have been released and you really get a sense that they are building up to a big series. The first three episodes so far lay down a lot of ground work that gives the series great potential. We'll have to wait to see if the series reaches that potential but so far I am enjoying it and am excited to see what will happen next. One of the things that I am really enjoying are the Easter eggs throughout the episodes. Look for Ed Boon, creator of Mortal Kombat, in episode 3.
Episode 1 can be seen here.

Mortal Kombat 9: Endings & Fatalities

Image
There was a lot of anticipation leading up to the 9th game in the Mortal Kombat franchise and reviews have gone from 'Amazing' to 'A little easier than previous titles'. Although, the one thing that all fans have agreed on his how beautiful the game is visually.

Not everyone has the ability to knock out the combo sets that Mortal Kombat has in place and therefore may not be able to beat the game as easily as others. To this end, G4 has posted both the Character Endings as well as the Character Fatalities and Babalities (including Kratos) on their site. They have also include a Krypt Walkthrough as a guide to unlock fatalities and alternate costumes. Take a few moments and click through your favorite characters and enjoy.

Doctor Who Series 1-6 Timeline

Image
Nathanthenerd has created an extensive timeline that maps out Series 1-6 of the current series of Doctor Who as well as where Captain Jack Harkness' and Sarah Jane's adventures fits into the map. It is well detailed with a great Key and must have taken quite some time. Definite kudos to Nathanthenerd.

Deathly Hallows Part 2 Trailer

Image
The moment all Harry Potter fans have been waiting for is finally here. The release of the new Deathly Hallows Part 2 trailer!! Its incredible! Without further ado (because I am busy rewatching it) I present the trailer.

UPDATE:
Now that I've watched it a few times I can share my random thoughts.
Of course the first one is "Wow!" You gotta love all the various Snape moments in the trailer as well as the opening shot of Lily and Petunia. I laughed at Greyback getting blasted through the window by Voldemort. Voldemort walking among the dead bodies was a much welcomed eerie part and carries a tone that will hopefully be present throughout the movie. The stone statue 'army' was awesome to see. Fred Weasley laying dead was definitely a sad part as well as seeing Lupin and Tonks bracing themselves during the battle. Gotta love Molly attacking Bellatrix! I'm also trying to figure out if that is Oliver Wood flying in on the broom during the Battle of Hogwarts.

Ravenclaws (Friday Parody)

Image
With all the 'Friday' parodies coming out, one was bound to at least be entertaining. YouTube user Ginnyisaprincess is the first one that I have seen to enter the realm of entertainment rather than just be annoying. The song promotes the superiority of the Ravenclaw house at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I'm personally a Gryffindor but this video still amused me.

I-CON 30

Image
I-CON, Long Island's Science Fiction convention, once again descended on the campus of Stony Brook University on Long Island for I-CON 30 and brought with it excited convention goers eager to see the guests, show off their cosplays, and spend too much money in the dealer's room.

Though this year saw a media guest list that was lighter than previous years, the full guest list was pretty extensive and can be seen here. Some of the bigger guest's panels and Q&As filled up quick which was a great sign for the convention. Panels ranged from "What Comics You Should Be Reading" and "Humor in Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror" to "Zombies: Not Just for Breakfast Anymore" to "Medieval Torture and the Modern Day Pleasure It Brings". So as you can see panels ranged from one extreme to another. Which is what you are looking for in a convention because you want a wide variety of options.
I-CON 30 had all of its regulars in attendanc…

Playstation Network Shut Down Indefinitely

What started out last Wednesday as a temporary shut down has now turned into a Playstation user's nightmare. Yes, I'm sorry to say this Playstation fans; you'll have to play games without going online!

Due to recent attacks from hackers, SONY has announced that it will indefinitely shut down its Playstation Network since its users' information may be compromised. They are currently rebuilding the service and looking into the situation to see if any personal information about its users was accessed.

UPDATE:
"If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained."Read SONY's full statement under the cut.
