RBS' Cosplay Closet - Tarfull the Wookie from Star Wars! [video]

You would have to have one large cosplay closet to house this particular cosplay but it would be incredibly worth it! YouTuber and costumer "Plaigeous" (real name is Julian) has put together a jaw dropping Wookie costume from Star Wars that would be ready to step onto the actual Star Wars set! The particular Wookie that Julian built is Tarfull from Star Wars - Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The detail that went into this costume is staggering. The teeth are dental acrylic and the gums a dental monymer. That alone is some amazing dedication right there. "This costume test was to see how an 8' 2" wookie costume would work in a practical way. Overcoming the difficulties of running, fighting, kneeling, rough terrain, etc. whilst wearing 15 inch stilts. Shooting on a Red MX camera it was also important to see how something this large would be framed in shot with other characters and how to light it correctly. The costume is based on Tarfful the Wookie from Star…

It's always fun to see an artist's new interpretation of your favorite characters because it brings out fun and interesting new looks that you may have never thought about before. Keeping this in mind, artist Danny Mora has created two amazing pieces that feature Leonardo and Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that has the turtles wearing some traditional Japanese weaponry and armor. I think this look works great for the turtles and would even love to see this look used in comics/television some day. Even the mischievous smirk on Michelangelo looks badass wearing this outfit. What do you think of these outfits? Have a favorite part of them? Would you be interested in seeing more from the artist?

Jaw-dropping fan made intro for Doctor Who Season 8! [video]

Check out this stunning Doctor Who Season 8 intro sequence by UK VFX Artist Xander David-Hugh that features Peter Capaldi as the Doctor! This project spanned "around 8 weeks" and the end result is truly remarkable. The visual effects and animation used are very smooth and this artist brings fans an intro style that we have not yet seen on the show. An intro like this would be a welcome breath of fresh air! "You will find the theme to have been built upon the official theme tune with deeper 4-beat drum rhythm, as well as paying homage to some older versions of the theme tune with a modern twist." This is the kind of intro that I would love to see used in the actual show and I hope that the BBC is taking notice of this VFX artist and his great creations! Let me know what you think of this intro and if you'd like to see it used in the real show!

Hayao Miyazaki announces retirement at Venice Film Festival.

Studio Ghibli president Hoshino Koji made a very big announcement at the Venice Film Festival that many fans may be sad to hear. Legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki (72 years old) is retiring from feature film making. Miyazaki's films include Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Porco Rosso, Spirited Away, Ponyo, and more.

The announcement came from the festival where he was screening his last film The Wind Rises. Perhaps Miyazaki may still dabble in film shorts since his retirement is from "feature films" but we'll have to wait and see if this is the case.

Miyazaki and his brilliant films will be missed but I know that fans will continue to watch and love his works. Are you sad to see Miyazaki retire? Which Miyazaki film(s) is your favorite?
