Miyamoto talks about A Link to the Past revival

It has been no secret that Shigeru Myamoto, creator of The Legend of Zelda series, has been thinking about reviving The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for some time. Before the launch of the Nintendo 3DS he had also commented about possibly bringing the game back as a 3D adventure.

In a recent interview, Myamoto was asked if he was still considering bringing the game back. While he said it was still on his mind he admitted that he may be more interested in making a new game in the same style or a continuation of A Link to the Past.
"I think the answer would be the same if we're talking about just porting," he said, "but I think I'd be even more interested in creating something new maybe based on, or starting from, A Link To The Past. I think it's important to bring some really new software."I believe that Nintendo has done enough porting in the recent past (especially with the Nintendo 3DS) and that fans would be much more excited to hear the ne…

Spider-Men duo is revealed!

Thanks to Comic Book Resources we finally have the official reveal of the second Spider-Man that will appear in the upcoming Spider-Men mini-series. Spider-Men will be written by Brian Michael Bendis and drawn by Sara Pichelli. It was earlier revealed that one half of the duo would be Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker. Many speculated who the second Spider-Man would be and it turns out that they were correct. We now know that the second Spider-Man will be Ultimate Spider-Man, Miles Morales. This will be the first time that the Marvel Universe and the Ultimate Marvel Universe will cross over and fans are definitely excited.
"Ultimate Comics Spider-Man" writer Brian Michael Bendis, who with artist Sarah Pichelli introduced the world to Morales last year, was tight-lipped on details, summing up the upcoming five-issue miniseries by saying, "For the 50th anniversary of Spider-Man, what everyone was looking for was a Spider-Man story that mattered. Well, here you go."…

The Simpson's creator Matt Groening reveals the location of Springfield

The big mysterious question surrounding The Simpsons has always been where Springfield was located in the US. After all these years, many thought that it would never be revealed and would remain one of those great fan debates. However, after 23 seasons, The Simpsons creator Matt Groening has finally revealed the location of Springfield. The state that gets the honor of saying that the Simpson family lives in their state is ... Oregon!
"The home of the Simpsons is named after the neighboring town where Groening grew up in Portland. “The only reason is that when I was a kid, the TV show Father Knows Best took place in the town of Springfield, and I was thrilled because I imagined that it was the town next to Portland, my hometown,” Groening said in an interview with Smithsonian Magazine. “When I grew up, I realized it was just a fictitious name,” continued Groening, who lived on Evergreen Terrace as a child, the same name of the street the Simpsons live on. “I also figured o…

Fan-made Pac-Man short is phenomenal

This fan-made short for Pac-Man: The Movie is absolutely amazing. The creators have made a solid story premise that could actually work for a Pac-Man film and used digital effects that looked incredible! I loved when the ghosts came out. They looked great! The film team did an wonderful job and should really be proud of themselves. I'm going to let the short speak for itself, so watch and enjoy!

New clip for The Avengers features Nick Fury and Maria Hill

A new clip has been released for The Avengers that features Col. Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill. Cobie Smulders, who plays Maria Hill, made an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman and debuted the new clip while saying that the final cut of the film is "really really good". Though to be honest I wouldn't expect her to say it was bad. The clip shows us a rocky conversation between Fury and Hill.

We know the tesseract that they are talking about is the cosmic cube but the mystery is what this "Phase 2" technology is. Anyone have any theories? And what did you think of the clip?

Mario Goes Berserk

If you ever played the original Super Mario Bros. for hours on end, then you definitely have thought about this at one point. After hours of dying and being told that the Princess was in another castle, Mario was bound to snap at some point and completely loose his cool. Dorkly has created a hilarious video showing us exactly how that would play out. Enjoy!

Black Widow vs Buffy Summers: Who would win?

Joss Whedon had a moment to sit down with USA Today and discuss some of his recent projects which include Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope, Cabin in the Woods, and The Avengers. One very interesting question that was asked pinned Black Widow from The Avengers up against Buffy Summer from Buffy the Vampire Slayer in a fight, wondering who would emerge victorious. Whedon's answer was not only thorough but truly showed that he is a great writer and perfectly envisioned the fight in his mind.
"Buffy would go easy at first, but as soon as Natasha popped her with a Widow Sting, she'd start bringing some slayer brawn to the fray. Natasha's fast, but a couple of good connects and she's wobbling, possibly something broken -- she whips out her glock and now Buffy's dodging -- right where Natasha wants her. Natasha shoots the cable holding the steel barrels and they tumble onto Buffy, nearly burying her -- Buffy just arcs out of the way, grabbing the splin…

Katniss Everdeen Barbie

Barbies aren't exactly my thing but I thought that this particular one deserved to be shared. Mattel is now taking pre-orders for their new Katniss Everdeen Barbie from The Hunger Games. It is selling for $29.95 and will be available in August. The doll is incredibly detailed and dressed in Katniss' arena outfit.
"I chose to dress her in the outfit she wears during the games, since this is where all the non-stop action takes place and is instantly recognizable by fans. Of course, she wears her mockingjay pin proudly on her lapel… The doll’s minimalistic style and details — such as her loosely braided hair and makeup-free look — also really embody the heroic character Katniss."

Avatar: The Last Airbender raids Star Wars' closet!

David Filoni was a director for Avatar: The Last Airbender who left after the first season to work on Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Upon leaving he gave the crew of The Last Airbender this image of the Avatar cast dressed as characters from the Star Wars universe. The character comparisons are perfect and the drawing is fantastic!  "When I left Avatar the Last Airbender I gave every member of the crew this image of the main cast as Star Wars Characters. Working on Avatar was one of the greatest experiences of my career and I have never printed a copy of it since I gave it to the crew of Season 1. I drew the image on paper and then had it scanned in. The color was done by my then-assistant director Justin Ridge, who later came up and worked with me on Clone Wars."
