Death Star PR - 6 Part Star Wars web series kicks off with "Alderaan Reasons" [video]

The destruction of the planet Alderaan in the movie Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope had many repercussions throughout the universe. But writer Robbie Boland has created a funny 6 part web series titled "Death Star PR" that deals with the Public Relations department of the Death Star and how they try to put a positive spin on the destruction that their workplace will inevitably do.

The first episode has been released and is titled "Death Star PR - S1 Ep 1: Alderaan Reasons".
"It is a period of civil war. The benevolent GALACTIC EMPIRE have just unveiled their secret weapon. No, not the DEATH STAR, its PR TEAM. Hounded by calls from evil REBEL ALLIANCE supporters, WILSON, Head of PR, and his scruffy-looking off-sider, SHARPE, set out to prove that the Death Star will restore peace to the galaxy..." Enjoy!

Harrison Ford reportedly signs on as Han Solo in Star Wars Episode VII!

Star Wars fans may have fallen out of their seat when they heard today's reported casting news for Star Wars Episode VII. According to Latino Review, Harrison Ford has agreed to sign on to reprise his role as the Corellian smuggler Han Solo! Ford has spoken out a few months back about how he would be interested in coming back as Solo but only if his character got a death scene in the new film. Could this mean that J.J. Abrams has agreed to this term?

This is undoubtedly very excited news for the Star Wars franchise and reason for all fans to cheer. I am personally a little hesitant to cheer too loudly for two reasons. The first reason is that I want to hold my major celebration until Disney confirms this casting. The second is that this news has the potential to go in either direction; very good or very bad. We all saw what it was like to watch an aged Indiana Jones on the big screen in Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.  Han Solo is an amazing character and I wou…

Paramount Pictures and Marvel have released a brand new movie poster for the upcoming Iron Man 3 and this time it features Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes (played by Don Cheadle) in the new "Iron Patriot" armor! The look on Rhodes' face is intense and there seems to be fire and ash flying around him at the bottom on the poster. Wonder what kind of trouble Rhodes has gotten wrapped up into this time. What do you think of the new poster?

Ancient Egyptian Star Wars hieroglyphic art!

Check out this fun Star Wars fan art that depicts the movie's characters as though they had been drawn in a hieroglyphic form in Ancient Egypt. As a fan of both Star Wars and Ancient Egypt this is pretty cool. It would be interesting if the artist did a whole series of these.

Ubisoft protests to have Rayman Legends released for the Wii U!

It was recently announced that the Rayman Legends, originally an exclusive for the Nintendo Wii U, would be delayed so that it could be released on multiple platforms in September. Nintendo gamers were devastated when they heard this news, especially since the original release of the game was only weeks away. However, it seems that Nintendo gamers aren't the only ones upset at this news! Photos of the Ubisoft Montpelier Development Team have started popping up of them holding signs for the game to be released on the Wii U. "Rayman creator, Michel Ancel, standing with a couple members of Ubisoft Montpelier holding "Release Rayman. Support Ubisoft Montpelier." banner. The speech bubble coming from the crying Rayman reads "Please" in French. The small signs held by the crowds on the banner read "Wii U", "Rayman", "Michel Ancel" and "28/02/13"."

Beautiful dress inspired by Tron!

Take a look at this beautiful dress that was inspired by the movie Tron: Legacy. It is a stunning dress that is fashion forward and really must say that the creators, Jin Yo and Scruffy Rebel, did a fantastic job on its concept and creation. The custom identity disk (seen in the second picture) is also a very nice touch! What do you think of this dress? Would you be willing to wear it out and support your love of sci-fi?

"God made a Gamer" parody commercial! [video]

Fans who watched the Superbowl this year were subjected to the overly drawn out Dodge Ram "Farmer" commercial. It was boring and frankly felt very out of place for the Superbowl. However, leave it to geeks to create something fun out of this commercial. The folks over at Blame Society Films have created a great parody that uses a similar narrative that explains why God made a gamer. So pull up a chair, roll up a Dungeons and Dragons character, and enjoy the commercial!

Fans will experience Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary in 3D!

The BBC has officially announced to the fans of Doctor Who that for the 50th Anniversary later this year that they will be able to enjoy the episode in 3D!

Though the details of how this will be presented in 3D is not yet known, there are a lot of fans out there that will be excited about this news. The first obvious option is for viewers to watch the show on the new 3D television sets but this may cut out a large portion of the fandom as not many people have these televisions. So how do you think the BBC will air this episode in 3D? "Stevan Moffat, the show's lead writer and producer said the latest 3D escapade would bring a "whole new dimension of adventure for the Doctor to explore"." Personally, I am not that crazy about the whole 3D fad. But how about you? Are you excited to watch Doctor Who in 3D?

RBS' Cosplay Closet - X-23!

It's time that Laura Kinney, also known as X-23, stepped out of the shadow of Wolverine and cosplayer LoneShadow-Wolf succeeds in making X-23 shine. X-23 is a character from Marvel's X-Men franchise. Debuting on the animated series X-Men: Evolution, X-23 has since branched out and become a part of many different "X-Teams".

LoneShadow-Wolf has done an amazing job on this cosplay. I especially like that she went a little further with the added detail of green contacts. It's a very nice touch. Her hair style, facial features, and body type all compliment this cosplay definitely make it stand out as one of the best X-23 cosplays out there. The outfit looks to be very well made and the stitching looks clean. To top it off, the adamantium claws look perfect.

What do you think of this X-23 cosplay?

PSA - Cosplay is Colorblind [video]

Cosplay is colorblind! Fans should be able to dress up and portray whatever characters they love without worry that someone will say something negative to them. It shouldn't matter what color your skin is or what gender you are. I've heard negative comments thrown at people and have been on the receiving end of them myself. It's ridiculous. Cosplayers spend their time working hard to become a character that they love. They shouldn't be worried about what others may say.

Here is a great PSA from cosplayers to spread the word that "Cosplay is colorblind!" Cosplayers - get out there, have fun, and meet new friends. We're all waiting to see what amazing creations you can present to us!
