Review - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

The Ninja Turtles have finally left their liar in the sewers of New York City and entered theaters around the world. How will fans react to the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Will it excite fans and succeed or will fans' dislike of Michael Bay (who is not the director of this film) sink it before it even has a chance?

I have to start off by saying that this is indeed a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and it feels that way. That is not a bad thing! I actually enjoyed this film and as a long time fan I, like many out there, was nervous about it. However, I am glad to see that I walked out with a smile on my face. I'll also make a note pointing out that I was excited to see this film because I had the opportunity to be a background extra in it and found myself during the film's climactic Times Square battle at the end of the film. Very exciting!

This was a film that was publicly dismissed before it even got started. Fans didn't like the look of the turtles and walked…

The Nerdy Bartender - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles slushies! [video]

If you are looking for a way to keep the Ninja Turtle weekend alive or just looking for fun new drinks then let me present to you Stacey Roy, the Nerdy Bartender! I've featured Stacey's awesome cosplay videos in the past but now she is starting an all new video series titled "The Nerdy Bartender" that is a lot of fun.

The first episode of The Nerdy Bartender has Stacey Roy creating Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle slushies! To give the drinks a little more presentation value Stacey painted her glasses to look like the various Turtles' faces which is a fun idea. I also have to say that I love all the Star WarsDoctor Who, and Assassin's Creed collectables in the background! I even spotted a cool Nathan Drake statue from Uncharted 3 on a shelf behind her.

Stacey walks her audience through the process of creating the drinks in a very fun and easy to follow manner which is great. The pop up "Whabam Facts", or "Fun Facts", are also a great touch an…

Nebula wears an alternate costume in this Guardians of the Galaxy concept art.

A new concept art piece for the character of Nebula from the recently released Guardians of the Galaxy has popped up with Nebula wearing a different outfit. The concept art comes from Marvel artist Andy Park and features actress Karen Gillan as Nebula in an alternate costume. This particular costume has one major change and that is the change to Nebula's top revealing her stomach making it a "sexier" outfit. What do you think of this concept? Think they should have kept this idea and used it for the film?

Doctor Who Season 8 opening intro is revealed in leaked video from the show's premiere! [video]

Straight from the premier of of the first episode of Doctor Who's first episode "Deep Breath" comes this great leaked video of the Season 8 opening intro! It's pretty interesting and definitely looks cool but it'll take some getting used to. Make sure to read my comments under the video if this intro seems familiar at all.

If you watch this video and think that it looks familiar then you may be remembering this fan made Doctor Who intro from YouTuber "Billydakiduk" who posted his video on YouTube almost a year ago last September. It would appear that the BBC loved his intro enough that they were heavily influenced by it. I can only hope that the BBC was in contact with him and made a nice deal to use his idea.

Review - Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy!

As I expected Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is a Marvel film like no other we have previously seen. For this reason, Guardians is a smash hit. However, let's not be blinded to the fact that this film was not flawless.

First lets look at the cast. Chris Pratt delivers an amazingly impressive job as Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord. He nails his comedic moments and delivers the dramatic needs of the character when necessary. He is certainly a highlight of the film. Dave Bautista surprised everyone with a perfectly portrayed Drax the Destroyer. He brought big hits and the humor needed to the character. His deadpan wit and great timing on some of the film's funnier lines really made you take notice of the character. The one thing that felt missing from the character is a planned endgame for his attack on Ronan the Accuser. Zoe Saldana shined as Gamora but it was the script that hurt her performance in this film. Saldana blended into the Guardians team very well but the character…

Alternate Nova Corps armor revealed for Guardians of the Galaxy!

A new book titled Guardians of the Galaxy: The Art of the Movie is due to come out next week but a very interesting image from it has leaked that is getting a lot of attention.

The leaked image is a piece of concept art for an alternate costume for the Nova Corps that we are introduced to in the film. If you have seen Guardians of the Galaxy then you can certainly tell that this armor is different than the one used in the film.

The very interesting thing here is that original scripts had the character Nova in the film and this armor certainly looks like his specific armor. Could this be his armor that eventually got cut along with his character? Could we still see this armor in Guardians of the Galaxy 2?

The character of Nova is truly great and I would love to see him get introduced soon. Either way, this alternate armor looks amazing!

Warner Bros. announces 9 untitled DC film release dates up until 2020!

Warner Bros. has made a huge announcement by releasing the dates of nine untitled DC films that will be released over the next few years until 2020. Along with these nine DC dates were two "Untitled WB Event Film" dates which could possibly be sequels to the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The upcoming movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is setting up events and characters for the Justice League film so it is safe to assume that the upcoming films will be films surrounding those characters. Using the proposed lineup given by Hollywood reporter Nikki Finke back in mid-June, let's take a look at the release dates and possible films to go with them.

Disney plans to bring a bigger Star Wars presence to their parks!

Star Wars has had a steady presence in the Disney parks for some time with the Star Tours ride as well as Star Wars Weekends. However, it appears that Disney plans to roll out some expansions and increase the presence of the hit sci-fi franchise in its parks.

Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger has stated that they are developing ideas and designs for a far greater Star Wars presence in the parks and that more information on the matter will be available next year.

Iger also commented that the Star Wars presence in the parks will be comparible to the Disney Princesses and Cars in the parks. That certainly is a larger presence if they are comparing it to the Disney Princesses!

Are you excited for a Star Wars expansion and larger presence in the Disney parks? I know I am!

How Captain America: The Winter Soldier Should Have Ended! [video]

The folks over at How It Should Have Ended have created another great video and this time they focus on Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This video makes you stop and wonder why exactly these ideas weren't implemented by the characters in the film. George R.R. Martin's children's book The Ice Dragon will be getting republished!

George R.R. Martin’s children’s book The Ice Dragon was first published in 1980 but it is now getting republished (again). The book was republished in 2007 with new illustrations but with the growing popularity of the hit show Game of Thrones the book is getting renewed interest. The new publication will feature great artwork from the Spanish artist Luis Royo.

The Ice Dragon is said to be set in the same world as Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire (the books that Game of Thrones is adapted from), but fans should not expect the same kind of tone. Since this is a children's book there will not be sex and very bloody scenes in it. It was explained to me that this book is like The Hobbit to The Lord of the Rings. Though it is not said outright that this book is set in Westeros, fans will be able to find plenty of similarities between the two settings. Martin may also reference The Ice Dragon in the newest Game of Thrones book.
"There's also a possible reference to the tale i…

Nintendo officially ends the Sheik gender debate by giving us the definitive answer.

Since the character of Sheik was first introduced in the 1998 Nintendo 64 game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, fans have been widely split on the gender of the character.

There are certainly valid arguments on both ends (but more for Sheik being a girl) and after all this time the topic has once again been making its round now that Sheik is a playable character in the upcoming Wii U game Hyrule Warriors. Now it appears that a representative from Nintendo has stepped forward and has given us the definitive answer and put the debate to rest (hopefully). Nintendo's Senior Product Marketing Manager Bill Trinen has clarified that Sheik is in fact female.
"We asked Nintendo if there was an official word on this, and they answered the call. Nintendo's official line, quoted from Nintendo senior product marketing manager Bill Trinen, is this: "The definitive answer is that Sheik is a woman — simply Zelda in a different outfit."" New Spider-Man spin-off film could feature a female lead!

Sony Pictures has been working on expanding their Spider-Man universe with their current projects "Sinister Six" and "Venom" (now rumored to be titled "Venom Carnage"). It appears that they may be adding one more spin-off to this list and it could feature a female lead character!

Sony Pictures has hired Lisa Joy Nolan (Pushing Daisies, Burn Notice, Westworld) to write this new film. At the moment there is no word yet on what character this new film will focus on but many fans are thinking that it could be Black Cat, Silver Sable, Firestar, or Spider-Woman. The most likely is Black Cat, aka Felicia Hardy, since Felicia was already introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 played by Felicity Jones.

Are you excited at the possibility of a female lead super hero film? What female Spider-Man character would you want to see featured on the big screen?

Studio Ghibli announces they will shut down their animated film department!

Recently, there have been a lot of rumors going around that Studio Ghibli is in danger and that they could be shutting down all together.
