Great fan film features Batman's old sidekick Nightwing! [video]

Batman has been getting a lot of attention lately but one fan out there has created a short fan film that features Batman's old sidekick, Dick Grayson. After shedding the role of Batman's sidekick and the identity of Robin, Grayson became known as Nightwing. This film was well done and shows Nightwing facing off against the Batman villain, Red Hood. "Nightwing is by far one of my favorite superheroes in either Marvel or DC I have always loved the character even when he was still just Batmans sidekick! so In honor of The Dark Knight Rises coming out, me and Jeremy " Jimmy" Le decided to make a short film based on one of my personal favorite DC/ Batman characters; Batmans old sidekick, "Nightwing"!"

X-Men: First Class sequel to be titled 'Days of Future Past'

The sequel to X-Men: First Class is set to start filming in January of 2013 but the big question remains; what will the sequel be about?

Reports are now coming in that the sequel will be titled "Days of Future Past". X-Men fans will recognize this name as the time traveling story from the comics. This storyline will certainly bring the franchise in a fun new direction while introducing some new characters to the movies.

'Days of Future Past' comic plot:

The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men's failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to wa…

Doctor Who gets multiple 50th Anniversary specials! But no full season until 2014?

Alright Doctor Who fans, get ready for a roller coaster of emotions. In the latest issue of Doctor Who magazine, Matt Smith talks about how there will not be a single 50th anniversary special for Doctor Who but multiple specials! Matt let it slip that Moffat's "first anniversary special" will be "as brilliant and as mental as you'd expect from Steven." This is potentially fantastic news!! As long as Moffat does something big for each of these specials fans should be extremely happy.

Let's take a look at the future of Doctor Who according to reported news. The first half of Season 7 will start off and end with the Ponds departing the TARDIS and Jenna-Louise Coleman stepping in as the new companion in December. In 2013 we will see the second half of Season 7 and then receive an undisclosed number of 50th anniversary specials as well as a documentary drama. Then in 2014 we will get to see Season 8. This is where our roller coaster takes its dive back to …

Mary Tamm, best known as Romana on Doctor Who, passes away at 62

It saddens me to write that Mary Tamm has passed away at the age of 62 after loosing her battle with cancer. Tamm is best known for her role as Romana on the British television series Doctor Who from 1978-1979Romana was the companion to the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) and was the first companion to be a fellow Time Lord (or Time Lady) and one who more than held her own against Tom Baker as the Doctor. She was also a part of the first ongoing story arc titled "The Key to Time". Like the actress herself, Romana was a strong character and one who will always be one of my favorite companions.

After Doctor Who, Tamm held several roles including spots on Eastenders, Wire in the Blood, Doctors, Paradise Heights, and Brookside. In 2009 she had her autobiography First Generation published and was currently working on part two.

The hearts and wishes of the Doctor Who community and all of Mary's fans go out to her family. She will always be remembered.

Nickelodeon's intro for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is revealed!

Fans will be excited to hear that the new intro for Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has finally been revealed. However, the excitement may end there. This intro may follow a similar formula from the 1987 television show theme in that it describes who the turtles are and tell you about each individual turtle but all similarities end there. Nickelodeon has chosen to use a rap song for the intro that I cannot see children running around singing the way they did the 1987 cartoon. There is plenty of great action in the intro but I cannot help but feel that the choice of using a rap song was a little off. However, this is certainly not the worst TMNT intro we have seen. So there is that. Take a look at the intro below and let me know what you think in the comments.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will premiere on Nickelodeon on September 29, 2012.

The Cost of Being Batman [infographic]

One of the great things about Batman is that he is a hero without super powers. Through combat training and gadgets Bruce Wayne is able to turn himself into a feared vigilante that cleans the streets of Gotham of it's criminal infestation. However, the cost of all his gadgets must really add up. Check out this infographic that adds up the sum total of all of Batman's various items that makes him the hero that he is. Some of the numbers seem a little high but it's still interesting to see everything tallied up.

Hipsters take over Hyrule!

This unique interpretation of our favorite characters from The Legend of Zelda, drawn by Deviant Artist Dan Jones, brings the world of Hyrule into the hipster age. Throw in some hipster clothing, American Spirit cigarettes, Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, and an iPhone and you have three classic characters transformed into hipsters. The art is very well done and this is sure to get a few chuckles out of Zelda fans. What do you think of this particular interpretation?

Sherlock Holmes meets Iron Man!

This great piece of fan art features two of Robert Downey Jr.'s characters coming face to face; Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man. I think Deviant Artist Daaakota did an amazing job here and really like how he made Iron Man fit into Homes' era by making him steam punk. The piece is titled 'Too Much Good Stuff' and is wonderfully done. How do you think these two would act towards each other if they really came face to face?

Full length Man of Steel trailer from SDCC leaks online! [video]

*Be sure to watch before it is taken offline!!

Fans were given a glimpse of Man of Steel via the teaser trailer that was released this weekend but fans who attended San Diego Comic-Con were treated to a full length trailer. One fan very sneakily recorded the trailer and has now put it up online but there is no telling how long it will stay up before it gets taken down. The quality of the video is obviously not the greatest but what is seen in the trailer gives me hope that the movie will actually be pretty good. This trailer give fans a look at some exciting action sequences and a better look at Henry Cavill in the Superman suit. Why this trailer was not released before The Dark Knight Rises is beyond me but I guess Warner Bros. has a plan for this trailer. Watch quickly and let me know what you think. Enjoy!

Second trailer for Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles focuses on villains! [video]

Recently Nickelodeon released a second trailer for their upcoming show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Unlike the first trailer that focused on the Turtles themselves, this trailer focuses on the evil villains that the Turtles will be battling against.

Fans will notice some new as well as old villains in this trailer and both look to be giving the Turtles some trouble in the new show. No sign of Bebop and Rocksteady just yet but the TMNT fan inside me will cheer loudly if they make a return in this new series. Are there any specific villains that you'd want to see make a return?

Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will premiere on September 29, 2012.

Men and women should wear the same armor in RPGs!

It has been a running joke with gamers for years that the less armor a woman has on the more protected she is. Or that a bikini version of a specific type of armor will protect the same amount as its male counterpart. This comic from Dorkly plays on that joke and is sure to get laughs from gamers and non-gamers alike.

Man of Steel teaser trailer gets split reactions from fans [video]

The official teaser trailer for Man of Steel has hit the theaters along with The Dark Knight Rises and fans are split on how they feel about the tone and music choice. What fans may not know is that there is actually two separate teasers with different voice overs in them. One teaser features a voice over by Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent (Superman's adopted Earth father) while the other features Russel Crowe as Jor-El (Superman's Kryptonian father).

In the Jonathan Kent voice over you hear Costner say, "You're not just anyone. One day, you're gonna have to make a choice. You have decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be. Whoever that man is, good character or bad, is gonna change the world."

In Russel Crowe's voice over teaser you hear Jor-El say, "You will give the people an ideal to strive towards. They'll race behind you, they will stumble. They will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them a…

Peter Jackson releases video diary 8 for The Hobbit; Comic-Con and last days of filming! [video]

Peter Jackson has released video 8 of his Production Diary for The Hobbit and fans are simply going to love this one. Again, the video is about 14 minutes long but as with all the videos you hardly notice the length. That's how great these videos are. This particular video takes you around San Diego Comic-Con with Jackson and the cast of The Hobbit and then gives fans who were unable to attend the panel held for the film a look at what those in attendance were able to see. The video includes all new scenes, sets, and some very touching words from the cast and crew as they wrapped up filming for the second film.
Along with the video, Jackson offered this hello to the fans unable to attend Comic-Con.

Blake's 7 is looking to return to TV with a U.S. remake

Science fiction fans from the 1980's will be excited to hear that the popular British TV series Blake's 7 will possibly making a come back to television. Georgeville Television, along with Casino Royale director Martin Campbell and writer Joe Pokaski (Heroes, CSI) are looking to bring back this cult classic.

The sci-fi show was set 700 years in the future and rivaled Star Trek during its run. The show followed a small group of criminals who were sentenced to a prison off of Earth and in route take their chance to escape. These criminals lead a rebellion against the Terran Federation which governs over Earth and its colonies and become unlikely heroes.

Given that the original was a low budget sci-fi show, it would be interesting to see what today's sci-fi standards and big budget studios could make of this show. Would you be interested in watching a remake of Blake's 7?
