Pre-Order your TARDIS Smart Safe!

Technabob has just reported that Big Bad Toy Store is now taking pre-orders for a TARDIS safe that opens with your smart phone (iPhone, iPod Touch or Android phone) that will cost $50. When you plug your device into the top slot and enter the right combination (on the TARDIS safe app) the front door of the TARDIS opens and makes some familiar sounds.

The safe itself looks fantastic and the light at the top of the TARDIS even lights up when you unlock the safe! The only drawback is that it appears that not much will be able to be held within the safe so this may be used just to store some of those smaller prized possessions that you own.

Tachnabob also makes a point to tell us that there is a regular lock and key version to this TARDIS safe. It's nice to have this regular option as well but the price drop is only down to $43.

You check pre-order the TARDIS Smart Safe here and the TARDIS regular safe here.

Colbie Smulder as The Avenger's Maria Hill

Fans got a quick glimpse of Colbie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother) in the second trailer for The Avengers was released. Marvel has taken it one step further and kindly provided these two stills of Smulders as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill. Smulders looks all business in these photos and I can say that I am definitely excited to see what kind (or how big) of a role she has in the film!

What do you think of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill?

Katniss shows off her bowmanship in The Hunger Games clip

A new(ish) clip has arrived for the upcoming movie The Hunger Games. Rest assured that the clip is not really a spoiler. It shows the main character Katniss, played by Jennifer Lawrence, showing off her skills as an archer while training for the games.

Now is it just me or was the second half of this clip (with the apple) already on the web? I saw it about a week ago. Either way, it's a great clip and you'll love it.

The Hunger Games will hit theaters on March 23.

Assassin's Creed is leaving Europe and coming over to America. More specifically, coming to America during the American Revolution. From this box art you can see our assassin getting ready to kill a British Red Coat. As a big American History lover, this definitely excites me!

The Hobbit - Production video 6 - Locations

Peter Jackson has just released his first video blog of 2012 from the set of The Hobbit and it is filled with some amazing footage. This is the 6th behinds-the-scenes video blog that he has put out for The Hobbit and if you haven't seen the previous videos, I would highly recommend watching them. This particular video is the second half of the 'locations' video footage and it truly showcases the awe inspiring locations of New Zealand. You get some great shots of the actors in drawven costumes and its great fun to watch them have fun and skip around while in costume. The blog stands at twelve and a half minutes long and is a great watch. Enjoy!

Tim Burton's Frankenweenie trailer and orginal 1984 short

Tim Burton's news adventure, Frankenweenie, takes him to very familiar territory. In 1984, Burton had created a live action film short entitledFrankenweenie. His new 2012 creation by the same name is the same exact film but given his amazing stop-motion animation touch that we have all grown to love.
Frankenweenie is about a young boy named Victor Frankenstein who loses his dog and how he copes (or in this case, doesn't cope) with the fact this his best friend is dead. The story from there takes a fun parallel to Frankenstein.

Frankenweenie is set to have an October 2012 release in theaters.

Aykroyd confirms Bill Murray won't be in Ghostbusters 3

In an interview with Telegraph yesterday, Dan Aykroyd revealed the sad news that all Ghostbusters fans already knew in their hearts; that actor Bill Murray would not be returning for Ghostbusters 3.
When asked if the movie will ever materialize, Aykroyd had this to say:
“I honestly don’t know. At this point it’s in suspended animation. The studio, the director Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis feel there must be a way to do it, but Bill Murray will not do the movie. He doesn’t want to be involved. He’s got six kids, houses all over America. He golfs in these tournaments where they pay him to turn up and have a laugh. He’s into this life and living it. I know we’d have a lot of fun [but] I can’t be mad at him. He’s a friend first, a colleague second. We have a deep personal relationship that transcends business and he doesn’t want to know.” You cannot blame Murray for wanting to live his life. This is not exactly the news fans wanted to hear but it is the news we all k…

The Avengers receives a new trailer and new name!

Just a day after the release of its first official movie poster, The Avengers has given fans a brand new international trailer and what an amazing trailer it is. We see both plenty of action and our favorite characters. We even get our first glimpse of Colby Smulders as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill. We see the Avengers team fighting each other, a certain team member in captivity, the team bonding together, fighting side by side, and even saving each other. What a catch by the Hulk! Fans even get a good look at Loki trying to intimidate Nick Fury as well as another (huge) alien threat.

At the end of the trailer comes one of the bigger surprises. The name of the movie for the UK release has been changed from The Avengers to Avenger Assemble. When asked for an explanation, a representative from Marvel replied:
“We have changed the title of “Marvel The Avengers” to ‘Marvel Avengers Assemble’. This has been done merely to differentiate the movie from the popular 1960s British televisi…

Avengers' first official poster!

Marvel finally released the first official movie poster for the upcoming Avengers movie. The poster as a whole looks really cool but I may think that because I really love the images where we have gotten to see the whole team together in the same shot. The one thing that is bugging me about this poster is that the photoshop used to put each character into the shot is fairly obvious. Though this is a small detail, it does take a little away from the poster for me personally.

There is a lot of action going on in this NYC street. What do you think of the first official Avengers poster?

Benedict Cumberbatch fights Spock in Star Trek 2 video

Just four days ago the first set photos of Star Trek 2 hit the internet and sparked excitement and curiosity from Star Trek fans. Now the first set video has appeared and it features Zachery Quinto (Spock) and Benedict Cumberbatch (unknown villain) fighting it out on top of some spacecraft.

It's clear that whoever Cumberbatch is playing, they are extremely strong if he is taking down Spock in the manner that we see in this video clip. There are many online theories circulating about who his character could be. Who do you think his character could be?
*Videos of this fight have been disappearing fast. Hopefully this one stays up.

Lucy Liu is Watson in new Sherlock Holmes series

In a surprising move, CBS has cast actress Lucy Liu (Southland, Charlie's Angels, Kill Bill) to play the character of Watson in their new Sherlock Holmes series entitled Elementary. Liu will portray Dr. Joan Watson who is a former surgeon who is now looking after Holmes. Johnny Lee Miller (Hackers, Trainspotting) will be playing the character of Sherlock Holmes who is a consultant for the NYPD.

After the casting of Lucy Liu and the setting of New York City, it is clear that CBS is shaking up the formula that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle created in his Sherlock Holmes stories. It'll be interesting to see what else CBS has in store for fans of Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock to become the Master?

November 23, 2013 will mark the 50th anniversary for the British science fiction show Doctor Who and there would be no better villian to make an appearance during the big 50th Anniversary special than the Doctor's arch nemesis, the Master.

Rumor has it that the Doctor Who showrunner, Steven Moffat, has his sights on Benedict Cumberbatch to portray the Master. Cumberbatch is currently best known for his role as the modern day Sherlock Holmes on the BBC show Sherlock (which is also written by Steven Moffat). Cumberbatch's next works will include The Hobbit (he will be the voice of Smaug and the necromancer) and Star Trek 2 (unknown character).

An unknown source told The Exress, "“It’s fitting that the Doctor comes face to face with his ultimate enemy, The Master, for the 50th anniversary and it’s felt Benedict is the perfect choice if schedules can work,” we’re told. “Fans will love the idea of the man who plays Sherlock Holmes taking on the Doctor’’."

Pokemon Black and White Version 2

In a surprise move, it was announced that the next Pokemon game for Nintendo will not be Pokemon Gray like many fans had theorized but Pokemon Black and White Version 2. The news was announced yesterday by Game Freak director Junichi Masuda on the Japanese television show Pokemon Smash. Being released this coming June, Pokemon Black and White Version 2 will be for the Nintendo DS. This is very surprising as most had figured the next main Pokemon game would be released for the Nintendo 3DS. There's no word yet on this choice to have it on the DS as opposed to the 3DS. Not much is known about the actual games themselves but it seems that these games may continue the story from Pokemon Black and White. This will also be the first time in Pokemon history that a game is a direct sequel to a previous game. The names of the legendary pokemon featured in these games are not yet known but the news is being teased that it will be told next week. A US release date is yet unknown but news con…
