PBS meets The Avengers in this funny trailer! [video]

The folks over at Gritty Reboots have created a really funny trailer that is a parody of The Avengers and features the heroes of PBS that dared to teach the youth of the world and the views of PBS the importance of learning. The heroes in this trailer are Carl Sagan, Mr. Rogers, Bob Ross, and Bill Nye.
To be blunt: Science, technology, and education are important to us. But we live in a world where the little news we hear of schools, research, and the arts is when they're laying their heads on the chopping block. We live in a world where celebrity and "reality" entertainment is winning the war for our attention. Though this may just seem like it's playing off a funny trope, we do need superheroes in our world. Super men, women (and puppets), like those actualized by PBS, who inspire young generations to be scientists, teachers, and artists. But those heroes will not appear unless we create them."

The true meaning to "It's dangerous to go alone," in The Legend of Zelda!

Artist Zac Gorman has some absolutely beautiful pieces and I really wanted to share one that I just came across. This piece truly speaks to the gamer inside of me and takes me back to my childhood. The piece features the iconic moment in the original The Legend of Zelda where the old man in the cave says, "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this," and then gives the sword to Link.

Fans have begun to call this photo, "The True Meaning To "It's dangerous to go alone"" which feels a fitting title. With everything that this young boy is about to embark on and the dangerous that he will face, the old man simply hopes that one day Link can forgive him. Absolutely amazing piece, Zac.

One Saga To Ruin Them All - hilarious take on current literature and movies.

Commenters on a YouTube video for the soundtrack of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring have taken the classic movie intro that describes the great rings of power and turned it into a funny monologue that talks about the great epic sagas that have graced our times and how one saga has moved in to ruin them all.

The epic sagas that the comments talk about are J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, CS Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia (although the comments say there are 5 when there are really 7), Alexandar (I am not sure who this is but (s)he has 5 stories?), George Lucas's Star Wars, and J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter. The evil saga bent on ruining them all is Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series and even George R.R. Martin makes an appearance to help in the fight for good.

These comments are just fun and clever. Well done.

Scientifically Accurate Ninja Turtles tv show intro! [video]

Animation Domination High Def (ADHD) has created a fun new intro for the cartoon series the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and modeled it after the classic 90's cartoon. This new version they have created is titled "Scientifically Accurate Ninja Turtles" and shows fans what the Turtles would look like if the show was scientifically accurate. The results are really funny, a little gross, and a little bit NSFW (Not Safe For Work).  Enjoy!

The Jayne (Hat) Bra!

Recently a deal between Fox and Think Geek was made that caused all vendors making homemade Jayne hats from the sci-fi show Firefly to stop production immediately. After many cease and desist orders, the only place to get the iconic hat is now ThinkGeek.

One clever fan however has found another way to get Jayne's iconic hat out to fans and that is in the form of a ... bra? That's right! I introduce you to the Jayne (Hat) Bra! Could this be the new trend to see at conventions?

The oddest retelling of The Lord of the Rings that you'll ever see. [video]

This short video (under two minutes) will surely be the oddest retelling of The Lord of the Rings that you'll probably see in your life. For starters, its titled "king of teh ringz triduum". Yes. That's the title. The video is apparently pretty old but from time to time gets taken down. With Sonic the Hedgehog stealing the One Ring and Frodo being rather "large", this video will have you laughing or downright confused from start to finish. This is one of those things that you just watch to watch to believe.

Paw Warz - A Star Wars Parody. [video]

I came across this fun short Star Wars parody video that takes an iconic moment from Star Wars: A New Hope and acts it out with cats. Yes, a cat video! It is the famous, "These aren't the droids you're looking for," scene in Mos Eisley. The way that Cat Obi-Wan gets them out of this situation is fantastic. Enjoy!
