Miyamoto talks about A Link to the Past revival
It has been no secret that Shigeru Myamoto, creator of The Legend of Zelda series, has been thinking about reviving The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for some time. Before the launch of the Nintendo 3DS he had also commented about possibly bringing the game back as a 3D adventure.
In a recent interview, Myamoto was asked if he was still considering bringing the game back. While he said it was still on his mind he admitted that he may be more interested in making a new game in the same style or a continuation of A Link to the Past.

"I think the answer would be the same if we're talking about just porting," he said, "but I think I'd be even more interested in creating something new maybe based on, or starting from, A Link To The Past. I think it's important to bring some really new software."I believe that Nintendo has done enough porting in the recent past (especially with the Nintendo 3DS) and that fans would be much more excited to hear the news of a whole new adventure based off of A Link to the Past.
"To be very honest and open, it really depends on the directors that have time at the moment as well," he said. "Some directors, I can give them the title and I know they will do something great with it.Would you rather have A Link to the Past come back as a simple port or would you like to see a whole new exciting adventure based off the classic Super Nintendo title?
"Other directors I'm not so 100 per cent confident [in], so they're the ones I'd rather take a more remake approach to the title. It really depends on that as well."
