'Torchwood' News - Gareth David-Lloyd & Eliza Dushku

Towards the end of Children of Earth, the Torchwood team (and fans everywhere) lost the loved member of the team, Ianto Jones. When the fan favorite character met his end fans did not want to accept that he was gone and created online petitions and letters to Russel T. Davies, writer of Torchwood: Children of Earth, to get him back. Though Davies stood strong that Ianto was dead and that he would not return it appears that he was only half right.

It was released on Gareth David-Lloyd's twitter that he will officially be returning. The message read, "Ianto's back... in three new Torchwood radio plays set between S2 and Children of Earth. Doctor Who mag #435 has story info, and we'll keep you posted as to airdates."  Be sure to check out that Doctor Who Magazine issue!

Rumors have been spinning that Torchwood would have its own spin-off series and that Eliza Dushku would be involved. For once, rumors were true! Today Entertainment Weekly broke the story.
Dushku has signed to star in an online animated “motion comic” series based on Starz upcoming Torchwood: Miracle Day. Titled Torchwood: Web of Lies, Dushku will be front and center in the short-form story, which will also have voice appearances by Torchwood stars John Barrowman as Capt. Jack Harkness and Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper. Jane Espenson, who has worked on Dollhouse, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica and Torchwood, is penning the series along with co-writer Ryan Scott.
This online comic will consist of 10 three-minute videos and is expected to run side by side with Torchwood: Miracle Day. No plot details have been released yet for Web of Lies but you can bet that BBC Worldwide Productions will tease us as the release date approaches.
