'Doctor Who' Returns Next Fall

We all saw this news coming but it has finally been made official from the man himself. Steven Moffat has confirmed that after the upcoming Christmas special, there will not be a new Doctor Who season until the Fall of 2012.

Moffat revealed this in Doctor Who Magazine by stating:
"Doctor Who in the summer? All that running down tunnels, with torches, and the sunlight streaming through your windows and bleaching out the screen? All those barbecues and children playing outside, while on the telly there are green monsters seething in their CGI-enhanced lairs? It's just not right is it? Be honest.

"For me, as a kid, when the afternoon got darker and there was a thrill of cold in the air, I knew that even though summer was over, the TARDIS was coming back! So yes, that's part of the plan, that's part of the reason for this little delay. But it's not the whole story."
It seems that when Moffat has his mind set on something that it will indeed be done. Whether fans like it or not. Fans weren't too happy with him splitting up the sixth season and many have said it caused the show to lose a lot of its momentum (which I agree with). However, they suffered through the waiting period. Now Moffat is breaking the normal tradition of the show having a Spring season and it'll be almost nine or ten months without a new Doctor Who adventure. Time to break out those DVDs and Doctor Who books!

Be sure to watch the next Doctor Who adventure (and cherish every moment of it) on Christmas Day titled '"The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe.''
