Jurassic World officially has the biggest global box office opening weekend ever!

Put another "win" in the record books for director Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World! This weekend the film blew by its competition and officially grossed the highest global box office amount in history.

However, the great news does not stop there. The film set a few records this weekend which firmly set it in the records books as a box office smash hit.

First, the film earned $511.8 million worldwide which makes it the first film to gross more than $500 million in a single weekend. That is extremely impressive!



Second, Jurassic World earned $204.6 million in domestic sales which makes it the second biggest domestic opening of all time behind Marvel's The Avengers and it is only the second film to earn more than $200 million in its opening weekend. Third, the film has the third largest box office opening day ever with $82.8 million!

If you have not yet had the chance to go see this film I highly recommend seeing it. It was truly amazing!
