The mutated henchmen Bebop and Rocksteady are confirmed for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2!

More exciting news has surfaced for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel, tentatively titled "Half Shell". It was recently announced that actor Stephen Amell will be playing Casey Jones in the sequel. Now it has been revealed that two more fan favorite characters will be intoduced in the film, Bebop and Rocksteady!

Paramount Pictures made the announcement at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Nevada. Early versions of the first film's script had Bebop and Rocksteady in it but eventually they were cut all together.

Bebop and Rocksteady are two mutated humans who were combined with a warthog (Bebop) and a rhinoceros (Rocksteady) and are henchmen for the villainous Shredder. The characters originally made their TMNT debut during the 1987 cartoon series but have gone on to become a staple of the franchise and fan favorite characters. The two were also recently responsible for one of the most, if not the most, shocking TMNT moments in recent comic history. (You can find out more about this moment here and read about the writer's thoughts on it here.)

At the moment there is no word on what the sequel's story will be about but with Casey Jones, Bebop and Rocksteady joining the story, things should be very interesting.

Teenage Mutant Turtles 2 will be in theaters on June 3, 2016.
