Amazon releases a new map for their The Lord of the Rings series that reveals it's Second Age setting.
Things are heating up with Amazon's The Lord of the Rings series! The show's official Twitter account has been slowly revealing a map of Middle Earth while reciting the poem of the One Ring and the map has now been labeled with locations.
Fans pouring over the labels on this map will certainly notice that one of the lands is named Calenardhon. This land would eventually become Rohan, a country that existed within the Third Age and is the Kingdom of Men. We can see from the inclusion of Calenardhon that this show will take place in the Second Age. The Second Age is the era when the legendary rings of power were forged and when Sauron first rose to power. Further proof that this is the Second Age of Middle Earth is that Lindon, the realm of the high elves, is featured alongside Rhun and Khand while Anor and Gondor, two kingdoms of men, are missing.
Fans can go to the official site map and zoom in and look around in great detail.
