Nintendo offers fans a first look at "Nintendo Labo", a DIY building kit for the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo shocked gamers today when they announced a new way for kids to play the Nintendo Switch. (Yes, Nintendo specifically stated that this was "for kids and adults who are kids at heart". So ... kids.

The new gaming initiative is called "Nintendo Labo" and involves DIY cardboard accessories that turn your Nintendo Switch into a variety of objects such as a piano, fishing rode, a robot mech suit, and so much more! These newly made accessories are then used to play new mini games on your Switch.

"Get ready to Make, Play and Discover with Nintendo Labo! Nintendo Labo is a new line of interactive build-and-play experiences that combine DIY creations with the magic of Nintendo Switch. Available on April 20, 2018!"
Nintendo Labo will be available in two different sets. There is the "Variety Kit” which features five different games and Toy-Con (what you are actually building); including the RC car, fishing, and piano that will cost $69.99. The second kit is the “Robot Kit” which will be sold for $79.99. These kits include a Nintendo Switch cartridge, set of cardboard sheets, and additional building materials such as string, rubber bands, and plastic connectors.

As a teacher I think this is a beautiful way to get children interested in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).
