Brie Larson comments on the responsibility of playing Captain Marvel in the MCU.

Over the past few years, Captain Marvel has become an extremely popular Marvel Comics character and with the upcoming release of her own film her popularity is still very much on the rise. Fans are ecstatic to have a female lead Marvel film hit theaters.

While speaking to Total Film, actress Brie Larson, who is set to play Captain Marvel in the film, spoke about the importance of the character and her hope to get her right.

"“I feel a great responsibility. I have so many conversations with fans about the universe and this character in particular. I’m grateful for social media for that, actually — it’s such a great way to connect with people, to understand what it is they love about this character, what it is they hope to see. Where this character’s at in the comic books is such an inspiring space right now. I’m so grateful to be part of it.”"
