See the unaired 4 minute pilot for The Real Ghostbusters cartoon!

If you grew up in the 80's and early 90's then there is a very good chance that you watched The Real Ghostbusters cartoon (and loved it). This cartoon adaptation of the 1984 film was brilliantly made and had some truly amazing stories in it.

I've seen every episode of the show but the one thing that I was not aware was floating out there was a 4 minute unaired pilot for the show! This pilot has no dialog and basically runs as an extended musical intro. (I've included the official show intro so that you can see how much of the pilot was put into the final intro for the show.)

There are some interesting and notable differences in the pilot, many of which were more similar to the film. You'll see that all of the Ghostbusters are wearing tan jumpsuits and sporting slightly different equipment. Peter looks a little bit more like Bill Murray in the pilot and Slimer and Stay Puft Marshmallow Man are bad guys like in the film. One other thing that I noticed is that the sleeping quarters in the firehouse was similar to the film as well as opposed to the animated series.

I'm really happy that I came across this. This is really fascinating!
