J.K. Rowling confirms the Hogwarts houses of James S. Potter (Harry's first child) and Teddy Lupin!
It is September 1st and for magical families all over the United Kingdom that means that it's the first day back to Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardry. Children from all over the UK boarded the Hogwarts Express this morning which left Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross Station promptly at 11am on route to the town of Hogsmeade.
Author J.K. Rowling reached out to her fans this morning asking them to wish James S. Potter (middle name, Sirius) good luck as he is just starting at Hogwarts this year. James S. Potter is the oldest child of Harry and Ginny Potter.
I'm in Edinburgh, so could somebody at King's Cross wish James S Potter good luck for me? He's starting at Hogwarts today. #BackToHogwarts

Rowling reached back out to her fans later in the day to confirm that James had been sorted into Gryffindor House. (Congratulations, James!) However, Rowling also included two more pieces of information about another character from the novels; Edward "Teddy" Lupin. (Teddy is the son of the late Remus and Nymphadora Lupin.) She not only confirmed that he is a Head Boy for his house but that he is indeed a Hufflepuff!
Have just heard that James S Potter has been Sorted (to nobody's surprise) into Gryffindor. Teddy Lupin (Head Boy, Hufflepuff) disappointed.

This is pretty great news and it is always wonderful to learn something new about a book series that you have loved for so long.
Fans already assumed this is where they wound up but having the confirmation makes it that much better. How do you feel about the confirmation of the houses of these two characters?
