Andrew Garfield speaks out about Tom Holland being cast as Spider-Man.

With the recent deal between Sony and Marvel to bring Peter Parker / Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the role of Peter Parker was handed down to the young actor Tom Holland. There are some who are upset to not see the return of The Amazing Spider-Man's Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker but it seems as though Garfield himself is okay with the decision.

During an interview with ET Online, Garfield commented on Tom Holland's casting and his thoughts about not being in the role himself anymore.
"It feels lovely, especially because Tom Holland is a really, really great actor. He was in this movie The Impossible and he was just this incredibly powerful, sensitive, just wonderful young actor. And [he's] a dancer, so his body’s the right [form]. I'm just really excited to just be a fan again as opposed to bearing the weight of it."
There is certainly a lot of pressure when taking on a super hero role these days so I am not surprised that Garfield is happy to enjoy the character as a fan again. Though some felt that his Peter Parker was a little too "cool" many felt that his Spider-Man was great and the hero that we all wanted to see on screen.

Are you excited to see Tom Holland take on the role of Peter Parker / Spider-Man in future films? Knowing that this will be a younger Peter, what aspects of his character are you looking forward to most?
