Top 5 NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) games of all time!

Some of the best video games in history were originally released on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). In honor of the 32 year anniversary of the NES YouTube channel Zoomin. TV Games has created a short list of the Top 5 NES titles of all time!



This is a list that had to be extremely hard to create. There are hundreds of NES game to go though (826 to be exact) and many of them were truly great.

"5 – Disney's Ducktales
The NES – and later the Super NES – had a wide range of licensed platform games, and some of them were actually quite good. Disney's Ducktales is one of the best ever made. In this game you play as Scrooge McDuck, looking for treasure in order to beat Flintheart Glomgold in becoming the richest duck alive. Oh, and this game had that amazing pogo stick! 

4 – Metroid
On the fourth spot we have to go with Metroid. The atmosphere of this game is very memorable, and who can forget that epic battle against Mother Brain? In this action adventure you would gain abilities that would open up new doorways elsewhere in the game world. Metroid is without a doubt one of the best games ever made! 

3 – Super Mario Bros
Show anybody World 1-1 from Super Mario Bros and they instantly know which game it is. Even the background music is instantly recognizable. Kids in the 90s would play this game for hours and only the cool kids would knew about the hidden pipes in World 1-2. This very first Super Mario Bros game has certainly earned its legendary status.  

2 – The Legend of Zelda
With the release of the very first The Legend of Zelda in 1986 Nintendo created one its most beloved franchises. The game hosted an open world with dungeons and introduced all the elements that are still being used in modern Zelda games. The Legend of Zelda is one of the most influential games of all time and was truly groundbreaking.  

1- Super Mario Bros 3
We know it's a bit weak to have two games from the same franchise in one list. But the first Super Mario Bros is such an immense classic, we couldn't leave it out. And even though we all love that first game, we unanimously agreed that Super Mario Bros 3 was the better Mario game and best NES game of all time.  

Super Mario Bros 3 had all the great mechanics from the previous games, but also gave us awesome new abilities like the racoon suit, Frog Suit, the Hammer Suit and the Tanooki Suit."
