New Jurassic World featurette shows how the animatronic Apatosaurus was built for the film!

The dinosaurs in Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World looked amazing. Many of them were computer generated but not all of them were. Legacy Effects has released a fantastic video that shows what went into creating the animatronic Apatosaurus seen in one of the film's pivotal scenes.

When Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) are comforting a dying Apatosaurus after the genetically engineered Indominus Rex attacked it, the actors are actually interacting with a real creature. Sure, it may be animatronic but that doesn't mean it's not "real". That particular animatronic dinosaur was created in 3 months by the hard workers at Legacy Effects. This amazing video will show you how it was created. By making the Apatosaurus animatronic they wanted the audience to connect to it and feel bad about what had happened to it. While watching the film did you feel sorry for the gentle dinosaur?
