Mario footage looks stunningly realistic using the Unreal 4 engine!
When creating their games, Nintendo doesn't usually use outside commercial engines but this video from YouTuber "aryoksini" may make them think twice. (At least I hope it does!) Take a look at footage of Mario running around environments using the Unreal 4 engine in the video above and fine out find out more from "aryoksini" inside the article.
In this video you can see Mario traveling through various realistic environments such as castles, snowy mountain sides, dungeons, and more!
"Here is Mario running in Unreal Engine 4, all the environment assets were taken from the Unreal marketplace, all the character actions were scripted using blueprints only, all animations were re-created from scratch as well as the PBR ready textures."
The footage looks absolutely stunning and I can only hope that one day Nintendo will step up to this kind of engine to create their games. Sales would go through the roof. What do you think about the footage shown? Would you want to see Mario, Link, or even Captain Olimar running around environments like look like this?
