J.K. Rowling reveals fans will find out the name of the US wizarding school in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them!

It appears as though the upcoming Harry Potter film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will have plenty of surprises for fans.

One of those surprises was just confirmed by author J.K. Rowling on twitter after being asked if the Salem Witches' Institute was the USA wizarding school. Rowling confirmed that the Salem Witches' Institute is in fact not a school for magical learning but instead something along the lines of Britain's Women's Institutes.

Rowling did go on to answer more tweets and revealed something very big about the upcoming movie.

It has been revealed by Rowling that the name of an American wizarding school will be revealed in the upcoming film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and that the main character Newt Scamander (played by actor Eddie Redmayne) will be meeting people from the school.

It has been revealed on Pottermore by Rowling that there are 11 wizarding schools worldwide. We do not know where all of the schools are but here is the information we do have on them:

• Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (Scotland)
• Beauxbatons Academy of Magic (France)
• Durmstrang Institute (Northern Europe)
• Koldovstoretz (Russia)  Mahoutokoro (Japan)
• Mahoutokoro (Japan)
• Uagadou School of Magic (Africa)
• A so far unnamed school located in Brazil
• One school in the United States that will be revealed in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
• 3 other so far unnamed and unlocated schools around the world.
