It looks like actor Asa Butterfield will be the next Spider-Man for Sony and Marvel!

It looks as though Sony and Marvel's search for the new Peter Parker / Spider-Man may have just come to a close!

Latino Review is reporting that the young actor Asa Butterfield has been chosen to play the role. (Latino Review has an amazing track record when it comes to news scoops thanks to their great sources.) Rumors has been circulating that the roles was down to Butterfield and one other actor but I think that Sony and Marvel made an excellent choice. We've known that they wanted to cast a younger Peter Parker who was cemented in high school so that they could play around with all the great stories that Spider-Man had as a younger hero and I really feel that Butterfield has a great look for Peter.

We do not yet have confirmation but it has been assumed that Spider-Man will be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War. This makes perfect sense but if you know Spider-Man and his big part in the Civil War storyline, I do not know if you would want to do that with a character this young who is being introduced in the same film. They may find a work around for the film's story.

We'll have to wait for the official confirmation from Sony and Marvel on the casting of Asa Butterfield as Peter Parker / Spider-Man but if it turns out to be true I think they made the right call. How would you feel about the casting of Asa Butterfield as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man?
