CBS picks up the DC superhero show "Supergirl" for a full season!

It's official! CBS has picked up the DC superhero show Supergirl! Actress Melissa Benoist (Glee, Whiplash) will be starring as Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, in the new series and although we do not yet know specific plot points of the show or the pilot episode we do know a little about the central story that the show will follow. The show,

"centers on Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist). Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she’s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin, Superman. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be."
