New World Record speedrun set for The Legend of Zelda on the NES in under 30 minutes!

The Legend of Zelda on the NES console has a pretty active speed running community and they have all been working towards one ultimate goal; beat the game in under 30 minutes. Speedrunners had been getting closer to that goal but on March 31, 2015 the goal was met by gamer "LackAttack24". LackAttack24 set the new World Record run while streaming on Twitch at 29 minutes and 56 seconds.

The Legend of Zelda has a lot of precise movement and bomb drops that need to be perfect for a run like this to succeed and although LackAttack24 had some scares during the run in which he became very low on bombs (which are needed for stronger enemies) hewas able to pull out the ultimate goal.

This is a huge gaming achievement and my congratulations go out to LackAttack24 for an amazing run. I'm excited to see what he tries next.

You can watch the record setting run in its entirety below. Enjoy!
