Find out why Batman and Superman begin fighting in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice!

It should come as no surprise that in a film titled "Batman v Superman" that the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel would be squaring off against each other. The secret however has been why are they fighting each other.

We already know that this film will be inspired by the iconic Frank Miller comic story "The Dark Knight Returns". In this story, Superman is sent by the President of the U.S.A. to go take Batman down. However, there seems to be a small twist in the film.

*Spoilers below*

"In Batman v Superman Superman is no lackey of the government; if anything many of the world's governments distrust the guy. But it is Superman who goes to Gotham and starts the confrontation... at the behest of Lex Luthor. And unlike The Dark Knight Returns, Superman comes out swinging, pulverizing the Batmobile with one punch. Why would Superman do Lex Luthor's bidding? What is Lex hoping to accomplish? That would be spoiling. But know that when the fight is over, Batman will be able to point to Superman and say, "He started it!""
It is interesting that Superman would head to Gotham on the direction of Lex Luthor. Is Superman working with Lex or did he just convince Superman that Batman is a threat somehow? What are you thoughts on this news? Does this excite you more to see the film?

Batman v Superman will be in theaters on March 25, 2016.
