Disney set to make a live action Mulan film!

It's now official. Disney is just going through their classic animated film catalog and turning all the successful cartoons into live action films.

Disney is officially developing a live action adaptation of the 1998 animated film Mulan. They purchased a script from Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek that will center on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, a Chinese female warrior who dresses like a man to take her father's place in the Chinese military to fight against an approaching Hun army. The original animated film grossed $300 million so you know there is definitely love for this film out there.

This is certainly one animated tale that would make a great live action film. I'm curious if Mulan's dragon companion Mushu will make the cut into this film or if they'll go without him.
