Disney reveals the plot for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales!

The official plot synopsis has been released by Disney for the upcoming film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales! This new sequel is being directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning and will have Johnny Depp back to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Film synopsis:

"Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea...including him. Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas."

This is an interesting plot and I am little surprised that they would be pulling Poseidon into this story (or at least his trident). Does this sound like a film that you would want to go see? Are you excited to see another Pirates of the Caribbean being made?

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will sail into theaters on July 7, 2017.
