Nintendo reveals new, jaw dropping Zelda U footage at The Game Awards!
Well, I don't think anybody saw this coming! Tonight at The Game Awards, Nintendo showed off the world premiere of some jaw dropping new footage of the upcoming title for The Legend of Zelda for the Wii U.
The footage looks absolutely amazing and better than anything we have seen before. They are fully pushing the Wii U hardware to the limits and I love it!
Eiji Aonuma played the game while he and Shigeru Miyamoto talked about the game and its features. First off Hyrule is now massive. They showed the map on the gamepad and it is absolutely huge. This is clearly the biggest Hyrule to date and now players can mark things on the map as places to travel to which is cool.
Another element that we saw was the sail cloth that debuted in Skyward Sword. One element that has returned that has me extremely excited is the return of Epona! In this new title mounted combat has been greatly improved! Epona will now continue running to a destination freely moving out of the way of trees and rocks to give the play full control of mounted combat where they can use their sword or bow and arrows! You can also jump from Epona and fire an arrow and when you make the jump you enter a slow motion mode to aim at your target. (Can I also point out that I love that Epona runs along side wild horse at one point in this gameplay footage. YAY!) One last small detail that is really interesting is that fruit, like apples, will grow on trees and can be picked and eaten! I wonder if this will help gain health back.
You can watch the gameplay footage in the video below.
This new Zelda title will be out in 2015 but it is mentioned that coming out before it will be The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for the 3DS and right after that Star Fox for the Wii U! Zelda will be out after these two titles in 2015.
How excited are you for this new Zelda game?! AAHHH!!!
