New TV series confirmed for SyFy titled "Krypton"!

Watch out, DC fans! An all new DC show is about to come to the SyFy channel but it takes an interesting twist that you may not have expected.

Syfy and Warner Horizon Television have teamed to create a show titled Krypton that will be about the iconic planet that Superman was born on. David S. Goyer (Constantine) and Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time) will be producers of this series and they have come up with an interesting(?) idea for the show.
"From Warner Horizon Television and DC Comics, Krypton takes place years before the Superman legend we know, when the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This drama, which is in development, follows the Man of Steel's grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known."

I can only assume that this show's creators passed on doing a young Superman style show, similar to the current Gotham, because it would be way too similar to the hit show Smallville. Apart from producing, Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time) will also be writing the script. It's interesting that they decided to focus on Kal-El's grandfather instead of his parents and I am quite curious to see how this is all brought to the screen. It'll be interesting to see if the show remains on Krypton full time or if maybe we'll get glimpses of Kyrptonians heading to Earth.

What I am also curious to see is how this show will blend in with all the current DC shows on television (The Flash, Arrow, Gotham, and Constantine) as well as those already in development for future premieres (Supergirl and Titans).
