Margot Robbie cast as Harley Quinn in the upcoming Suicide Squad film!

One of the biggest characters in the Batman franchise is Harley Quinn. When the announcement that a Suicide Squad film would be made fans could not have been happier because they knew that this was their best chance to see Harley Quinn on the big screen. Well it seems that all their wishes may have just come true.

Collider is reporting that actress Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) has just been cast in the role as Harley Quinn in the upcoming Suicide Squad film. At the moment there is no official confirmation but if this is true it will be great! Collider is also a good source of information and does not post things without their own credible sources.

Harley Quinn was first introduced in Batman: The Animated Series on September 11, 1992. Harley was actually the first Batman character to be introduced outside of a comic source that became so popular that she was written into the comics. She was the Joker's girlfriend/henchman and a close friend to Poison Ivy.

The Suicide Squad films will be about a group of imprisoned supervillains who are put on an elite team and given the chance to go on dangerous missions for the government in order to decrease their sentences. However, the team is expendable and the governmant will not help them once they are out on a mission which gives them their name, the "Suicide Squad".
