SEGA announces new Alien video game "Alien: Isolation" that will look to capture the suspense of the original film! [video]

It seems that SEGA is going to have another go at creating a video game for the Aliens franchise and this time they are taking a new approach to the game. The new game will be titled Alien: Isolation and will be released on the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. SEGA has released two video for the game; an announcement trailer and a production video. The big change to this game from previous games is that they are looking to recreate the horror and suspense of the original movie and therefore will have only a single Alien in the game. Also, using the line from the movie about Ellen Ripley's daughter (that was never further explained) the game will have players take on the role of Amanda Ripley.
"On a decommissioned trading station in the fringes of space, fear and panic have gripped the inhabitants. Players find themselves in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger as an unpredictable, ruthless Xenomorph is stalking and killing deep in the shadows. Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.
“In Alien: Isolation, we have taken the series back to the roots of Ridley Scott’s 1979 movie, the original survival horror,” said Alistair Hope, Creative Lead at Creative Assembly. “Our Alien is a truly terrifying creature, as intelligent as he is hostile, relentless, brutal and unstoppable. This is the Alien game fans of the series have always wanted.”"
Further synopsis of the game:
"Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien™, Ellen Ripley's daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance.
As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien."

From the way that the production team describes the game it seems like it will be really enjoyable. But the history of Alien games has not been great and the last game, Aliens: Colonial Marines, did not live up to the hype and expectation. Here's hoping that this new game is better than the rest! Enjoy the videos!
