Big name wizard cast as the voice of the Snowmen in the Christmas Special for Doctor Who!

Doctor Who has just unveiled some new information that will make a lot of fans very happy. Fans are now aware that the 2012 Christmas Special for Doctor Who is titled "The Snowmen" but a brand new, an unexpected, casting has just been announced.

*Possible spoilers ahead.

The last few Christmas specials have brought in some big names and this year will be no exception. However, only the voice of this actor will make it onto the show. Voicing the Snowmen (yes, the Snowmen) will be Sir Ian McKellen. That's right. Gandalf the Grey and Magneto will be joining the Doctor Who universe!

On a personal note, as cool as this news is I cannot get excited for it. The fact that this is simply a voice role means that this casting was done for nothing more than to get fans to view the episode. As though getting a new companion wasn't enough to drive fans to their televisions to watch. All the same, I shall be watching with the rest of the Doctor Who fandom!
