X-Men: Days of Future Past brings back two major original X-Men actors!

Director Bryan Singer has officially announced that he is bringing two original X-Men actors for X-Men: Days of Future Past. It was known that actos James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), & Nicholas Hoult (Beast) would be returning for the X-Men: First Class sequel.

*Possible spoilers ahead.

However, the bomb was dropped when Singer announced on his twitter feed today that both Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen would be returning to their roles as Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto respectively.  It'll be fun and interesting to see how these two veteran actors' roles play out in this time jumping (traveling) storyline. Could Fox also be looking to revitalize the original X-Men franchise while boosting their current one with these castings? What do you think of bringing Stewart and McKellen back for Days of Future Past? And do you think this could possibly bring back the original franchise for a new movie sometime in the future?

"The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men's failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men. She succeeds in her mission and returns to the future, but despite her success, the future timeline still exists as an alternative timeline rather than as the actual future."

Days of Future Past is tentatively set to be released on July 18th, 2014.
