Hogwarts inspired couture dresses!
If you are looking for a stylish dress to wear out on the town while still representing your house at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy then Deviant Artist DistantDreamer has the dresses for you! She has created some great Harry Potter couture dresses inspired by the four Hogwarts houses.
"Couture dresses inspired by the four houses of Hogwarts with heavy inspiration from their mascots. Which dress fits your style? ^_-DistantDream comments on the color choice for her Ravenclaw dress:
Gryffindor - The Lion - You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve, and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart
Hufflepuff - The Badger - You might belong in Hufflepuff, Where they are just and loyal, Those patient Hufflepuffs are true And unafraid of toil.
Ravenclaw - The Eagle - Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you’ve a ready mind, Where those of wit and learning, Will always find their kind.
Slytherin - The Serpent - Or perhaps in Slytherin You’ll make your real friends, Those cunning folks use any means To achieve their ends."
"* Note about Ravenclaw: Even though there aren't any comments on this page this issue keeps coming up on the rest of the interwebs. Ravenclaw's mascot is an eagle not a raven and in the books their colors are navy and bronze, in the movie they are navy and silver. My first version used bronze instead of the sliver/grey and I didn't think it meshed as well with the design. So the choice to use the movie interpretation was an aesthetic decision. *"The artist did an amazing job capturing each house in these dresses. Which dress do you like? Which would you wear proudly?

I LOVE the Ravenclaw dress! The Gryffindor dress is very nice too. I'm a Hufflepuff but, while the dress is very pretty, I could never pull it off. I have wide hips and it's not particularly wise to accent them.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Slytherin, but I love Ravenclaw dress the most.
ReplyDeleteSlytherin, hands down. I'm glad they went with such an elegant cut, befitting my House.
ReplyDeleteRavenclaw pride
ReplyDeleteit's ravenclaw, definitely... ilove it;s design
ReplyDeleteLove the Gryffindor one! It seems Red Riding Hood-ish. The Ravenclaw one is awesome too.
ReplyDeleteThey are all gorgeous dresses and you have captured the house's qualities very nicely! Gryffindor is very bold and daring and I love the hood! Hufflepuff is almost military which screams just and loyal and not afraid of toil. Ravenclaw has the feathers worked in very cleverly and the cut is smart. Slytherin is very elegant, smooth and the scales are well placed.
ReplyDeleteIm more grffyindor/ hufflepuff, but I love the Ravenclaw dress the most. I love the colors and design!
ReplyDeleteI'm a Slytherin born and raised. I love the dress but it's a bit low cut for my personal standards, however, other then that I love it. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone, for stopping by my blog and for the comments! I really appreciate it and hope that you continue to follow my blog.
ReplyDeleteI love reading your comments and completely agree with you guys. These dresses are stunning.
I wouldn't be caught dead in my house's dress. How about a bit more dress and less skin? I mean, for the others you could wear something under it, but it wouldn't work with the Ravenclaw one, and it doesn't help that it makes me think of an old fashioned maid. I say more blue and copper, and less feathers. We're scholars, not maids.
